Anybody else had problems with (red!) heat lamps affecting their beardies . for example, mouth yuckies, and agitation, we leave it off and turn on just regular heat light and she calms down and her mouth clears up. Please let me know.

Red bulbs are harmful to the eyes and long term can cause eye issues-- please get rid if it--- if your tank is falling below 65 at nite get a CHE ceramic heat emitter--- the mouth issues could be caused by a coil UVB- if your using one of those I recommend you get a 24" fixture w/ reflector-- and a 22" Reptisun 10.0 bulb T 5 for a 40+ gallon tank

I already replaced her coil bulb months ago and she has a reptisun 10.0 bulb t 5 and we figured it was a problem with it being red do you know of another one we could use?.

Do you get the same size wattage for the ceramic emitter as you do the heat bulbs

It depends on the tank and where its at? Cold rooms may require more wattage and warm rooms not so much and what the tank is made out of like glass or wood etc................ I would start w/ a 100 watt for a 40 + gallon -- make sure you have a digital probe thermometer or a stick on would work as well --- place the heat emitter on the back of tank center screen -- so its heating the whole tank - you do not want it over 75 or so --- 65-75 is good temp range at nite - dragons require cool and dark --- I use a 100 watt on my tanks they are Zen tanks and 120 gallon- it will be trial and error w/ the bulbs like your basking bulbs --

Generally, 100 watts is ideal for a 40 gallon. If the tank is larger (55-120+ gallons) I use a 150 watt bulb in a lamp with a dimmer so that it can be adjusted according to the temperature needs. Just make sure the light fixture you use can hold the wattage of your bulbs.
