Hello! I’m a new beardie mommy. I got my little guy a few months ago. I’m assuming his age is about 6 months but the pet store couldn’t tell me when I bought him about 3 months ago. I recently noticed my little guy has little red dots on his tail. Can anyone tell me what this is? Should I be worried? Normal poop, normal eating, active. It’s barely noticeable.

May i ask what kind of bugs he gets? I just noticed he looks a tad on the thin side, if he hasn’t had superworms yet, those are good for fat, if hes close to 6months he can digest them just fine.

I give him little worms. That’s what I was told to give him. I will get some superworms!

Looks like he may have had a field day in his fruits and veggies lol. Did it come off when you tried wiping it off in a bath?

Also superworms are ok but dubia roaches are the best for them. What ever you do, refrain from using mealworms. I know they may seem the same as superworms but they are a lot worse than superworms. They can actually really harm your dragon.

Thank you. I didn’t know that about mealworms.

They just have a lot harder exoskeleton and don't provide hardly any nutrients at all. With the superworms just be sure to gut-load them and they are probably better as just treats as they are addicting to beardies.

You can order dubia roaches online from breeders in facebook groups or on websites, but I prefer personal breeders. They don't fly, bite you or your dragon, and can't infest or breed if they get loose (been there done that lol). They provide lots of nutrients for your babies!

Looks like bites to me. Do u leave bugs in the enclosure at night? If so, please take them out, they will literally eat you dragon alive.

Those are bad, now that we know that… your beardie may be getting burned. They have very sensitive bellies and I suggest a piece of driftwood or a Hammock instead. Prob the same thing Vic and Mars will say.

I suggest ordering a hammock like mine. My beardie LOVES it. It got it off of Amazon for $15.

No problem!! I love helping! They are good because you can adjust how high or low they are from the heat lamp.
