I've already made a post on here about my beardie and respiratory infection, but I have come back with concerns.

I have tried nebulizing with collidial sil er for a short period of time, and I'm once again doing so, it's day five so far, but that's not exactly what I want to focus on.

He's been struggling with a supposedly " RI " for a long while, and all attempts to rid it always fail, as it proceeds to come back or perhaps not even be cured. He's had baytril, both orally and via a shot, but neither seemed to have rid him of a small clicking sound. And now, once again he's still doing it, along with breathing with his mouth open away from his basking spot. He's actually recently been to the vet again for this, but he wasn't prescribed any medication because the vet said when listening to his lungs he sounded perfectly healthy but also she didn't want to prescribe medication so often he became immune. He's had medication a lot, so I understand.

Yet, now that he's still doing it, I'm not sure what to do. I know it's not possible to keep giving him medicine or else he'll become resistant, but he also still seems to have RI symptoms. Or maybe it's something else?

His humidity is about 25-29 in the middle of his tank, 36 on the cool and 20 on the hot. He has a t5 uvb strip light (not bulb) and is in a 40 gallon (currently in proces sof upgrading to 120. it's being built). He's about 2, I believe. Yet, that's as long as I've had him.

He eats roaches and crickets dusted with calcium and vitamins on required days, along with greens with sometimes other stuff onto cucumber, carrot, bell pepper, etc.

Should I keep nebulizing him for now? I'm keeping an eye on him.

Is the nebulizer helping? If not I would stop- are you getting surface basking temps with a digital probe thermometer- what are they? The T 5 is it unobstructed? Is there a piece of basking decor directly under it- it's good he's eating- you aren't using any colored bulbs are you? Let's see what Tracie thinks-

Yes, temps are with a digital probe. His basking spot is at 100. His t5 is on a wide hole screen but there is something close under so he can catch the rays. No colored bulb

Ok so is the distance for the UVB 8-10 inches? I have flagged Tracie to your post

Hello,

Sorry your dragon is still having trouble. Have you been keeping him a little warmer overnight to help
boost his system?
Sometimes Baytril doesn't hit every bacteria. They may need to do a mouth swabbing to determine
what kind of bacteria is present so another type of medication might be needed. It is possible it could
be a mycobacterium type of bacteria. They can culture the mouth swabbing & determine the type, if any
bacteria is present. Klebsiella is somewhat common & present in a lot of respiratory issues.

Hi, no I haven't tried keeping him warmer overnight. I agree it'd be a good idea, and I'll be getting a ceramic heat emitter

Hello,

How is your dragon today?
Great, a ceramic heat emitter should help a lot. I hope
he is feeling better soon.
