Question regarding hot glue in tank

Hi all, I was just wondering about hot glue being used in the tank.

I've got my viv set up mostly and have been monitoring temperatures before I get the new addition. And I noticed the ornament thats under the heading lamp/light getting around 120°F.

Two questions,
Firstly this is probably obvious but is that temperature of the ornament okay or would/could that burn their underside and secondly if so I have left over green marine carpet I was thinking of gluing a patch to the ornament to reduce the heat of that surface a bit so it would be cooler on the underside, would hot glue be and okay adhesive to use to stick that to the ornament or are there other things I can use.
Thankyou :)

By ornament I'm guessing you mean the object you are using for the basking spot. 120 degrees is WAY too hot you need to get a lower wattage light or a dimmer for your light. 107 is the hottest it should be and that is for a baby dragon. Adult dragons only need temps around 98 degrees.
