Question about weight

According to the Vet Spike was under weight when I got him, so he has been on a high protein diet since he has been here. He has put on about 45 grams, just under 500 now and he is looking good. He is a 3 year old 20 inch male, very active. What should the target weight be? As an aside he has started to shed and I am very excited.

Hmm....that's kind of hard to say. Each dragon is different. However, just for the sake of comparison, my Frodo is 21-1/2 inches long, is 4 years old and weighs right around 640 grams.

Do you have any pics of Spike? It would be a lot easier to say if he still looks underweight or is looking much more normal, now.

He has a good belly, but he is putting a serious hurting on my Dubias on this high protein diet.

Oh yeah! I saw those pics. He looks pretty healthy weight-wise, as far as I'm concerned. At his age, I'd think you could scale back to the 30-50 a week plan for now. As long as he keeps his weight on and continues to get better....

I agree with Craig. It seems like he has already done very well under your care. You can beef up his salad to help with his diet too.
