I found a miracle grow moss mixture. Would that be ok to use in with my house gecko?

Are there any chemicals? I usually use the Zoo Med Eco-Earth for tropical species. That or the organic potting soil

that's what I thought. I have just plain top soil in there with him now.

I use a variation of moss in a corner of my tank (same thing i use in my dart frog enclosures) to provide a hiding, and more damp area also. I also use UVB to some degree. How about you corrine?

i haven't put in uvb yet. I was thinking about putting in some live plants and adding plant lights. Would they have the same effect? I would like to use moss but am having a hard time finding a bulk package that isn't miracle grow. Any ideas on plants that will help with the humidity but not out grow a ten gallon tank? Also I did add one plant. When I put it in I put a layer of small rocks under it then soil on top of the rocks, then planted it. Did I do that right? I've never kept plants before. I assumed to put the rocks under it so I don't drown the roots.

i'm using a 2.0, so i would think plant lights would work fine. i don't really know if it's important or not, but i do keep a calcium lid inside the enclosure with a bit in it for them to lick like i do the gex.

i had the same problem with getting plants. i finally decided to go with the same ones i used with my dart frogs that could use the lower amount of water. i use alot of Bromeliads as well as moss and i'm attempting a fern.

I use a drainage barrier under my substrate so i don't have a problem with water. it's just a layer of aquarium gravel with the substrate over it. I do still use the river rock, and cork bark tho.
