Hello everyone, thanks again for all the help given in this forum! I think we are close to having things right for our cutie.

Our new enclosure arrived (Toad Ranch is awesome), and now Fitz has a nice living space. We installed a 12% T5 Arcadia UVB bulb and a Zoomed 100v basking light, which is installed all the way to one side of the enclosure.

The problem we are having now is the cool side is close to 90 degrees. The basking spot never gets hotter than 100. Any recommendations?

Thank you!!

Please post pics of the tank so I can see it to help you----how are you getting the temp on the cool side? And how are you getting basking temps? NO stick ons for basking temps---- the cool side is ok but 90 is too hot--- what are the temps in the middle of the tank ?

Thanks for helping Sadie. I’m using probes to take temperature readings. I have two probes, one at each side of the tank. There is just never much of a difference between the sides, like right now the basking is reading 90 and the cool side is 80. Mid day is when basking is 100 and cool side is close to 90.
I’ve attached a pic. We don’t use the ceramic heater.

Only the basking light is on. We haven’t turned on the ceramic heater because it hasn’t been getting too cold at night. His last enclosure was glass and it got too cold at night, but this new enclosure holds in the heat.

Yes disregard last post sorry--- it needs to be more of a vent on that cool side -- you are gonna need to cut another hole in the side or back -- can you show the hole tank from the front -- and what is on top a screen or solid

Ok, thank you. That’s a great idea, to make more vents. The top is solid.

I would do one at a time -- if it's still too hot maybe one on top as well-- I have a stainless steel screen on top of mine- so mine don't heat like that---- but w/ the solid top.its going to hold the heat-
