How many times do you change the sand in your BD's Home?
You shouldn’t even have sand. Get rid of the sand. Please. It could kill your bearded dragon. If they ingest it. It could very likely kill them. Or cost you an expensive trip to the vet. But lizard carpet. Please do not use sand. It is very bad for themHow many times do you change the sand in your BD's Home?

I'm passing along information that was recently given to me by @Julee1971 as it might help answer: "make sure u are feeding him his 2 fresh plates of STAPLE greens/veggies also otherwise when he's older he will never eat them. Mustard & collard Greens, dandelions, endives, yellow sqaush, butternut sqaush & snap peas. Those are the everyday BEST ones. I do 2 of each daily). Alongside the lots of proteins and try to feed the proteins at the same time evdery day. Feed only after an hour or two after basking and lights must remain on for 2hours after the last feeding. Mine wake up at 7:30 and eat at 9:30 u can start with a plate of veggies then 30min later the cricets then I fed at 1:30 then 5:30. Lights out between 8:30-9."Just wondering how much do you feed a 6 month old dragon. I just want to make sure I am good with that as well.
Well mine is about 4 months. I feed him as much veggies as he will eat before I feed him crickets. I feed him like 8-10 crickets. But give him/her as much as he/she will eat. As long as it’s not a ridiculous about of like 30 crickets or something. Unless they are really small. And watch their weight. Once they are about a year old feed them veggies way more often than crickets. They basically trade places. Even at 6 months Feed him/her as many veg and fruits they will eat! Please ask if you have anymore questions! -IsabellaJust wondering how much do you feed a 6 month old dragon. I just want to make sure I am good with that as well.
Well. I feed my beardie big crickets so 30 is a lot for mine lol. So yeah I guess if you feed them smaller ones than me which I should problaby do then yes 20-30 is reasonableI'm passing along information that was recently given to me by @Julee1971 as it might help answer: "make sure u are feeding him his 2 fresh plates of STAPLE greens/veggies also otherwise when he's older he will never eat them. My Dex is about 5 months old and along with his salad, he eats protein (bugs) 3 times a day. Usually I give him as many as he wants in a 15-20 minute period. He usually gets full before the time is up. I don't tend to count the bugs lol as he eats them faster than I can get them to him, but I'd say roughly 25-30 or so each feeding. He's graduated to the medium sized crickets and roaches and they tend to fill him up faster than the small ones.
His are the smaller medium sized. I always leave notes on orders explaining his age and how old. Josh Frog's (where I order from) are really good about sending the right size based on info I give. I'm only guessing on the amount. Don't really count them. lol When Dex was 4 months he was eating about what you said . . . between 8-10 each feeding.Well. Never- sand should not be used too much risk for impaction--- plus it harbors bacteria- you can use some textured NON adhesive shelf liner or textured slated ceramic tile cut to the tank size measure inside tank cut w/ a tile cutter- both can be purchased at your local home improvement store- or reptile carpet that gets expensive replacing all the timeHow many times do you change the sand in your BD's Home?

Get some BSFL and some small superworms add them to his salad in front of him-- this will draw his attention to the bowl - you will need a ceramic or glass bowl so the insects/ worms can't get out--- I can post websites for the insects/ worms and the bowl if you need ityou guys are giving me great advice. Last question how do you get them to eat the greenery. It’s been a pain
I use desert blend, it looks like sand but it's ground walnut shells and won't hurt your beardie. You shouldn’t even have sand. Get rid of the sand. Please. It could kill your bearded dragon. I am sorry to say walnut shells are toxic to dragons --I use desert blend, it looks like sand but it's ground walnut shells and won't hurt your beardie.
Where did you hear that from. Not true. I know a very experienced breeder who swears by it. My dragon is doing great with it so don't believe what you read on the internetI am sorry to say walnut shells are toxic to dragons --
Crushed walnut shell is dangerous and should only be used to clean up oil spills. This substrate is NOT digestable and if too much of it is eaten it will cause impaction. I have seen this occur first hand with reptiles ranging from lizards to tortoises. Stay away from this product please.
