currently mustard greens, i have tried bananas, pineapples, and oranges (she will eat the oranges but not everyday, she wont touch bananas and pineapples.) soon to try peaches. she will eat mustard greens, collard greens, and other greens like those . i can tell sometimes when she wants moving food cause she wont eat the greens, and the other way around too. and she wont touch dried food either. at first i tought it was some compaction but she pooped today and i classified it as diarreha.

i did read some where that greens can cause watery poop. it could be the fruits as well, they contain more juice. also, when i fed steven strawberries and blueberries i noticed her poop was more liquidy than solid and this was when she ate more greens than live feed. however when she ate live feed it was more solid. i try to feed her both live feed and veggies at the same time. i always leave a little bowl of greens and some dry food in the same bowl. so after she finishes greens she goes for the dry food.

is the basking temps right? if it isn't hot enough it's harder for them to digest. ie. last night i was worried because she didn't poop for the whole day, come to realize i should have checked the basking temp, it was not up to par because the bulb blew out today. when i replaced the bulb and had the temp go back to normal she pooped.

BDs staple diet should consist of dark leafy greens such as the ones that you have mentioned that she will eat. Fruits should only be a periodic treat, not part of the staple diet.

i'm not too much of a bd expert :( i wish i could tell you more. you should maybe get her to a herp vet for a check up and get her stool sampled?

sorry i i can't really say much more. i know there are members on the forum who are more knowledgeable and hopefully they will reach out to you soon!

I would strongly suggest getting a fecal done by your vet since a couple of things you said immediately made me think that internal parasites could be causing these problems. Luckily, fecals are relatively inexpensive to have done and if it turns out that Misty does need to be treated for them, de-worming meds are also relatively inexpensive. I say relatively inexpensive as compared to a lot of other vet-administered tests, procedures, and prescription medications, but costs are obviously going to vary quite a bit depending on where you live and the individual vet of course. I do think it sounds like this would be something worth going ahead with asap in your current situation. Good luck and keep us updated!

Do you mean that there was a lot of liquid expelled with kind of a normal looking stool or that the stool itself was extremely runny? Let us know if the next one is similar.

Generally bananas you want to avoid, just for future reference.

Is the basking bulb only 4" from where she basks? That could be dangerous. If she flips her tail onto that bulb she could burn it. Happened to me and now I have a stubby tail. I would suggest not getting your bulb at a pet store....way overpriced. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a hologan(?) bulb. Mine is 150 watt flood light and is plenty for a 40 gal tank. In fact I had to raise it up from the screen to get the proper temp but waaaayyyy cheaper than a petstore.....good luck!!

@germ she is pooping fine now. it had a little solid and a lot of liquid, she ate 20 crickets in one go wed. and didnt eat much thursday and friday, but she was shedding and is now 14in head to tail.
@Pat B i currently use a 100W bulb in a fixture that sets on the screen, ive tried a 150W bulb but got around 120 degrees.
@Aleena what ever food i feed her like bananas or the like, i cut into small chunks or mash it up
