Poop question...

Sedona's poops have always been pretty firm. For the first time the poop portion was firm but there was a lot of liquid and the white portion wasn't really solid like it normally is. Now..last night Sedona was eating some mustard greens and grated carrot, prev had kale and dandelion in there but had little interest. Now Sedona didn't finish the bowl or anything..about 2-3 mouthfuls that I saw.

Could that be the reason for the difference in poop? Would internal parasites all of a sudden start up after a month? Sedona hasn't been to a vet yet for a checkup.

Thanks!
Chris

consistancy has several relevant factors.
hydration--did she recently soak
greens consumption--changing sometimes brings about a little looser stool for a day or two
Bugs--hornworms and silkworms both increase hydration in stools.

Those things are normal. But if the issue persists over one or two more bowel movements....I'd runher fecal to just to be sure. Sometimes peace of mind is priceless. :)

Ok..gave a misting last night and then again this morning. I did a soaking for only 2-3 minutes can't remember if it was yesterday morning or not...Sedona's still not crazy about them. Last night was the first time for mustard greens and carrots.

Thanks for the help. I'll keep an eye on it and if it persists I'll get a stool sample to the vet to check right away. Otherwise if all is good I'll wait and bring a sample when I go to the vet on the 18th for one of the dogs and have him check it then for peace of mind.

Loose poop happens from time to time. As long as it is not a regular occurance. I just want to make a note that use kale on occassion. There are some not so good stuff in there that can harm your beardie if used for a prolonged length of time.

Is your dog's vet a herp vet? Herp vets specialize in beardie care. I'm not certain if a non-herp vet can run the same tests or not. Just a thought.

Note made about the Kale.

He does handle exotics...he worked on Louie, my leo when he got sick. When I was there this week I asked him if I should bring Sedona in for a well check, he asked where we got him from and knew the breeder and felt comfortable that Sedona didn't need to be brought in.

But I'm going to keep a little log of the "poop" situation to see if I see a trend.

Thanks!!
