I am new to the Bearded Dragon mom life and pet smart didn't tell me much about him except that he is 6 months and that he eats dried crickets. I was hoping someone could help me. What all can he eat at 6 months old? What can he not have? When can he have live crickets? What does his humidity need to stay up above at least? What can I put in his habitat? Can I put sticks and rocks from my yard in there if I clean them really well? Please help

Yeah petsmart people have not a clue as to how to take care of a dragon --- first off you must have the correct lighting and basking temps in that tank those 2 things control the over all health of your dragon -- so if you have a coil for a UVB please get rid of it and get a long tube fixture --- what size is the tank hes in now? Please dont tell me a 20 gallon ---- he needs live food NOW no dried crickets and he needs salads as well -- here is a website for nutrition http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html ignore the kale thing it a good staple feeder
next basking temps for a juvie / adult need to be 95-110 -- taken w/ a digital probe thermometer -- NO stick ons -- he should be getting his live crickets dubia roaches dusted 5 x per week once per feeding w/ calcium D 3 and vitamins w/ beta carotene once per feeding 2 x per week -- I have websites for ordering insects and worms -- if you want them please ask --- let me know what size tank so I can recommend what size you need for a UVB -- I normally recommend the Zoo Med 24" fixture w/ a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 bulb depending on the height of the tank -- Humidity needs to be 30-40% it can go as high as 70% but you want it lower than that -- you can get sticks and rocks from your yard you want to bake them in the oven for like a hour or so around 300 degrees I believe -- it will kill what ever is living in there -- do not get anymore advise from petsmart --- they are dummys when it comes to dragons--- unless they actually own a dragon and have hands on care I would not trust them --

Here is a link to what your bearded dragon's husbandry (conditions of his enclosure) should be like
This guide has information regarding enclosure size, lighting and placement, and decorations.

Your bearded dragon should be eating only live bugs and salad. No dried bugs or dead bugs. Stay away from mealworms too. Some good staples include: dubia roaches, crickets, and for salad; kale. You can feed hornworms and superworms as treats.

Stay away from iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, and all that stuff. Only the dark leafy greens listed above should be fed.

Put your bearded dragon in a room where there isn't too much traffic but to where he can see what is going on. They are social animals and like to see what's happening around them but they might be nervous when you very first bring them to their new home. I put my bearded dragon on the floor and he freaked out so put him on a stand (it is also colder on the floor).

I hope all of this information is helpful. PM me if you need any other help :)

I hate to say this but that 35 gallon tank is not going to last long--- your going to need at the least a 40 gallon and that is not a tank big enough to house a full grown dragon -- they need a 75 or 120 gallon tank --- the bulb I recommended in my earlier post is what you need -- you can use this for the 35 gallon tank but I need to know how high the tank is so I can help you place it --- here are some websites for insects/ worms
www.dubiaroaches.com great place for roaches better feeder --- they have nice horn worms they usually send small ones and only order small amounts they grow really fast -- you can also get some super worms order large ones and I would get him some nutri grubs as well -- order large they are small and they are another staple feeder -- do not dust them they make great salad toppers
www.reptilianarts.com -- great silk worms the cupped come w/ food clean containers out daily - they are another great stapler feeder -- they also have super worms do not order from them unless you have a cup w/ a lid w/ holes - they come in butcher block paper in a gunny sack and no food --
www.aafeeder.com - they have bundled packages
www.coastalsilkworms.com two places to order east and west coast
www.mulberryfarms.com spendy but good place to order - comes in 3 days - they have horn worms nutri grubs also known as calci worms BSFL and phoenix worms -- they also have butter worms they are the only ones that I know of that have them now -- nice worms --
www.symptonbsf.com they also have BSFL but I do not know how they come have not ordered from them for those --
your gonna want a dish like this to feed https://www.amazon.com/MACGOAL-Rept...uGQB&pd_rd_wg=tLkwE&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_d
I would feed your BSFL on top of the salads first thing in the morning and add those to his salads in front of him -- you can hand feed them to him as well -- it will start getting him hand tamed -- add 1-3 of the super worms too then after about an hr or so add your staple feeder -- roaches work best and they are easier to care for -- 10 gallon aquarium feed dubia food w/ carrots for hydration or squash --- do not feed the dragon carrots too to much Vit A -- if you have anymore questions please ask -- make sure your dusting the insects w/ calcium D3 5 x per week once per feeding and vitamins w/ beta carotene 2 x per week once per feeding --
