So! I need some clever ideas from you guys. Bayne HATES his vitamin supplement! Refuses to eat it! He loves, loves, loves roaches so the only way I can sneak it to him is to sprinkle the roaches with it. The only problem is, he doesn't get roaches every time he needs to have his vitamin. Today I tried sprinkling it on his "salad" and he ate every piece that had no trace of his vitamin on it, and left the rest. He's such a stinker! He's more stubborn and bullheaded than any bulldog I've ever met. It's frustrating but I love it at the same time. He's such a character! Do you guys have any other ideas of how I can trick him into eating it? He loves his calcium supplement but I've read you're not suppose to mix the two. Not sure if that's true or not, but I haven't just in case!

If he eats it on a roach, can you just give him one roach with the vitamin on it?

Yes, I was just curious if anyone could come up with some ideas or if anyone else had a picky eater. I can't seem to find any fruit he likes either. He's a silly boy.

I wish I knew right now my Izzy doesn't want to eat anything.... but then again she's not really coming out of her hides either so... Have you tried bee pollen? it is supposed to be a appetite stimulant and some really like it. Izzy is hit and miss with it..

Oh no, he eats like crazy. He loves dubias, crickets, wax worms, turnip greens, mustard greens and collard greens but I haven't found a fruit he enjoys. First few weeks he loved yellow/summer squash or mango, next time we tried it he wouldn't eat it. Tried butternut squash which was a no go. Although, I think squash is actually a vegetable, lol. I use to have grapes and a coffee in the morning and tried peeling a grape and giving that to him, but that was a no go. Tried peaches and that was a no go. And I believe papaya but he didn't care for that. Do they actually need to eat fruit occasionally or is it okay that he doesn't? He loves most vegetables and most insects. Just doesn't care for superworms or redworms. He did almost choke on a redworm but I pulled it out in time so I think he may just be a little scared. Figured I'd wait until he's a bit bigger before we tried any worms again. He doesn't get wax worms very often because of how fatty they are but he'd eat the whole container if Id let him, lol.

Then I would say your doing really well with him then! You are doing the same thing that I try and do each time I need to buy salad mixings for Izzy I try and do the staple collard, then dandilion/turnip/mustard greens, kale and mix up the veggies to see what she likes but so far collards and kale are her fav's yet to see interest in other stuff..
I get around it by feeding her feeder roaches the same items in a small lid so in a round about way if she eats the roaches she gets some that way..

Don't worry about him not eating fruit. Most fruit is an occasional thing anyway because of the sugars. Mine don't like fruit either. Dexter used to love it when she was small but now she doesn't eat fruit or veggies like she should. Luci just poops on it. Dolly ate some cantaloup once but that's because she likes the color orange!

Bayne tries to eat everything green. Maybe I will try green grapes. Thanks guys. I've read two books on Beardies and loads of information on here so I was hoping I was doing everything right. He sure has gotten a lot bigger and stronger on Brandon's Dubias. I love it!

Dexter used to go through that color phase. She would eat anything green and then all the sudden decide she wanted only red food. One time accidently bought dandelion leaves with red veins in them and she refused to eat them but yet would eat the all green ones. Luci has always eaten everything and Dolly will eat everything too but will go crazy for the color orange.

Awe. I love their personalities. I've had rabbits, dogs, cats, fish, frogs, birds, etc... But Bayne has the most distinct personality out of any animal I've had. Its amazing.

They have HUGE personalities! Dexter and Luci are completely different and Dolly is a good combination of them both. It's so fun to see their reaction to things.

For sure they have unique personalities!! :) Izzy is being a miss thing lately!! Not really wanting to eat anything, not really wanting to come out of her hides except to go to the other hide, not pooping for 5 days (scaring this momma since she's been an every to everyother day pooper)..
But they are alot of fun
