It amazes me how people can be so nasty on forums. There is this one person on a forum I go to and she is the meanest person I have ever seen on a forum. I can understand being passionate about your dragon like we are here and some of our opinions come off strong but well intended but this person is just downright mean. She thinks she is god's gift to the frilly community yet she has made very fatal mistakes in the past year or so of owning a frilled dragon and really hasn't learned from them. Her attitude towards people is the reason why so many people come to my forum instead and I can't blame them.

If someone asks a question that has already been asked in a previous thread she goes off on the person saying that she's tired of answering these stupid questions and people should just look through the forum. Granted people should read before they post but if you saw the layout of this forum, it's impossible to find anything. There are no categories and none of the threads stay on topic so I can't blame the person. Not to mention the point of a forum is to ask questions and she isn't obligated to answer any of those questions so she does it to herself.

I was helping another member with a custom frilly enclosure question and she posted a message to me in a very nasty connotation and I accidentally missed it the first time so then she made about 5 more posts right after another going off on me. Being the better person I politely explained how I did it and answered her questions and she continued to be a female dog about it. She decided she was going to try out my method and she messed up on something and she sent me a very nasty PM which I will post below

From: ******* on 06/15/10 at 11:56PM

Message:

how the **** did you get acrylic paint to work inside your frill dragon enclosure. i just painted my whole ******* enclosure in acrylic paint only to find out that the slightest drop of water makes the paint run and get everywhere... im so ******* pissed i just ruined my whole ******* enclosure that i just spent the last 8 days working on...

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you but you must have made a mistake somewhere. How did you apply the paint? Why was water on it? Did you seal it before water got on it? I really don't appreciate the tone you have been taking with me lately. I have done nothing but try to be helpful yet you find it necessary to talk down to me. I honestly shouldn't be trying to help someone who talks to me in the way you do but I am for the good of your animals. Try to be nicer in your next message if you want any further help.

Like after reading that message I just wanted to slap her through the computer screen. She also tries to talk down to me publicly on the forum which she failed at miserably. grrr what a *makes raspberry sound* :p

On my forum I have 1 rule and that's the golden rule. Treat others the way you wish to be treated. We have zero tolerance for people who flame on others practices or a person in general for what ever reason. If she ever signed up to my forum. I would bet she would last a day at most before me or my moderator (who was on the other forum too) would ban her. Her conduct is a disgrace.

You put her straight . . .

Ive also seen in the past before I found this forum that there are people like that. They know it all, yet when called apon are nowhere to be found. Still waiting for a reply on a rather serious question I had in March . . . .LOL
Thats one of the reasons I was so glad to find this Forum.. Everyone here is GR8

I have found there will always be people like that! They are absolutely miserable things. Best thing to do is ignore them and they WILL go away!! Life is too short to let that bother you even for a second. You let her know how you felt and NOW she knows you won't tolerate that any more!! : )

Oh crud! I have a problem with this sometimes. I think I'm the cancer on this forum! LOL!

But seriously, I'm really glad we don't have issues like that, here. I think most of our personalities are quite laid back....and that really helps the atmosphere.

You did the right thing, Candice. Kudos to you!

Good! Now think how ugly things could have gotten if you'd have responded differently. Maybe you've made a difference!!! Time will tell....

Proud of you, Candice. ;)

Thanks Craig. Honestly my entire motive behind being nice isn't so nice. I live by the term, "kill them with kindness". I was extremely polite and kept a cool head when she lashed out and it paid off in the end because she publicly proved how, let's be nice and say "inexperienced" she is.

Her and I got into a debate a couple months back in this same thread mind you, about creating faux walls and waterfalls successfully so nothing chips off and isn't properly sealed. Our biggest debate was over sealant and her issue with her enclosure was that she forgot THE SEALANT and expected the paint to automatically be waterproof when it dried and couldn't understand why the paint ran off once it got wet.

After I posted practically a book on how I did it she went and messaged me back saying I didn't answer her question on the sealant and how I did it. I can't help but laugh. My goal was for her to show everyone that just because she acts like she's queen of the hill doesn't mean she really is. By no means do I claim to know everything but sheesh at least I pay attention to posts when it's important.

Well, regardless of your motive, it certainly has seemed to work....at least, temporarily. Seeing as she's tends to lash out, by nature, I doubt this new attitude will last with her.

Yeah but luckily it isn't my forum so it isn't my problem. I initially went on there to help someone else out and that's the only reason I posted there.
