Is anyone able to offer advice on these these results that I've received for my beardie . Just need to know if vet visit is required. I've read before that moderate pinworm is nothing to be concerned about but I'm not too sure what the other part means on the results about a "scanty Nyctotherus cyst " seen? Anyone shed some light or had this before?

Hello,

I have seen fecal/parasite tests like that. Did the vet say that you needed to treat anything?
The levels are very low, so I don't think any type of treatment is needed right now.
Is your dragon apparently healthy & eating well?

I haven't seen a vet yet , the test was ordered online and they sent me the results via email . So I don't know if to go and see a vet regarding them , I've been advised to use panacure by other people who have had similar results and see if that helps, the guy I got Mushu from is also a breeder and owns his own shop and he also advised Panacure . And overall yes he seems healthy and happy , I first was concerned about his activity levels , when he turned 1 he started slowing down and not really moving around much in his tank but from the last week or so I've come to the conclusion I think I just have a bit of a lazy dragon , because he is very active when out of his tank running around being crazy , climbing things and looking extra alert so I'm not too worried anymore about that. He's eating well, loves all his bugs , eats a few greens (he's started becoming a bit fussy with greens) but overall a good eater when he wants to . I do think he is slightly dehydrated which I've been trying to fix (his skin is a little wrinkly) but he gets his greens spritzed with water and I give him little drops on his nose which he licks off. But he's a good weight (I believe) of 512g and 18inch long.

Your UVB and surface basking temps in the tank control the overall health and behavior of your dragon- how are you getting surface basking temps? No stick ons please -- you need 2 digital probe thermometers -- UVB should be a long tube fixture I can help w/ that --- NO coils they are health hazard

Yes I have a long tube fixture UVB and a ceramic heater (this is what I was advised and sold when I got him) . I have two digital thermostats one on the cool side and one on the heated side and a pulsating thermostat that's monitoring on the hot side to control the temps , the heated side is normally sitting at around 32/33c basking spot is higher than this at around 35c and the cool side around 28c usually .

Where is the UVB and what is the brand and bulb? Do you have a solid clear bright white basking bulb? CHE's are not good for basking bulbs --- your dragon is not getting the UVA he needs from the bright white bulb-- temps are good -

I have an arcadia T5 UVB , I think from memory it's a 10% . And no I do not have the solid white light one , can you suggest a good brand and I will sort out swapping them out asap, I was just looking at the acradia solar basking floodlight , can you advise if this one would be okay and what Watt do I get . The distance in the tank means I have to have a cage around the bulb to prevent him climbing on it and burning himself , the cage obviously then reduces the amount of space left under the basking spot. Will the distance depend on what watt I buy? There's a list ranging from 50w -150w . The distance inside the tank without a cage is around 42 cm ceiling to floor, and then with the cage from the bottom to the ground is 18cm .

Arcadia Halogen bulb is good --- wattage is trial and error but you must have the digital probe thermometers to get your temp you dont want to burn him up - you want a distance of no less than 6" above his basking decor piece -- the UVB I would get a 12% bulb ---

Thank you , I've just ordered the new heat lamp and the habistat dimming thermostat to go with it . I've gone for the 50w for now , see how it goes and if I need to go up in watt i can do . I will change it all over as soon as I get it all and see if this makes a difference.

Please make sure your UVB is directly over a piece of basking decor inside your tank 12-15 inches and I would get the 12% bulb -- it is stronger UVB

Thank you , and I've double checked the box and it is a 12% UVB that I've got at the moment I just couldn't remember from memory . And yeah the UVB is mounted at the top of the viv which is definitely within the 12-15 inches distance .
