So today was a crazy Monday. I had an emergency with my skink baby, had to drop her off at the vet's on my way to work. It cost a fortune and I spent the day at work worried I was going to lose her and that she wasn't coming back home.
I have had the worst headache all day and am sick to my stomach. But leave it Precious to cheer me up! The package from beardeddragon.co came and she modeled her new bandana and hat (and my son thought of the prop).

Thanks! When I took the picture, my son and I were laughing away and poor Precious kept looking back and forth at us like "I don't get it, what's so funny?"

Patsy...Tequila had blood all over her tank and face, it was coming from her nostril. She was sneezing and her breathing was a little labored. They immediately put her in an oxygen tank as soon as I got there. They did xrays, lungs were clear but there was "density" in that nostril. Concluded that she has a small object in her nose, they suggested maybe a piece of shed. They gave her a shot of antibiotics and she came home with pain/anti-inflammatory meds. She has to go back in a few days where they'll give her another shot. They're hoping whatever is there will come out on it's own, if not, then we'll discuss more drastic procedures. I got to bring home her xray pics and view them, kind of fascinating.
She home, she's ok but she looks like she either doesn't feel good or is in pain or both. How crazy is this??!

I am sorry about your skink that is a bummer. I just love Precious in the western garb. As soon as Muchu is big enough I am getting a bandanna & hat!

That's crazy! The positive thing is that her lungs are clear. I hope that whatever it is comes out on its own and she doesn't have to go through a procedure to get it out.

They really are like little kids. I can just picture Precious egging her on "go ahead stick it in your nose, nothing bad will happen, go ahead I DARE you!"

ROFL laughing @ Patsy! That was so funny! What's weird is when Precious was out yesterday, she spent some time in the window but then she went to the edge of the bed closest to the tanks and kept looking up at Tequila's for the longest time. It was like the little Know It All knew something's going on with Tequila.

Mushu, Precious is 530 grams and I got the XL 7 inch bandanna. It just fits when I get it under all that beard skin. I know I'll order from them again because I love their vitamins and supplements, and then I'll probably get the XXL 8 inch. I bought the probiotics and electrolytes for Precious when I was medicating her for coccidia. She loved lapping up the electrolyte then and I still give her some probiotic once a week. Also got the multivitamin at the same time. Precious's colors really popped out in the last 2 months (her red beard seemed to come out of nowhere!) and I've wondered if the multivitamin had something to do with that. With this order, I got extra bee pollen, alfalfa powder and dandelion powder (for days when I can't give her the fresh stuff) to sprinkle on her salad.

I really appreciate all the kind words for Tequila, thank you! I'm scared to get too positive yet but I think she's ok. No more blood or breathing problems. She loves her meds and laps it all up then wants more, so I lucked out there. I'll feel more comfortable after she goes back to the vet on Friday. Her new nickname is "Million Dollar Baby" lol, thank god for CareCredit! I had literally just paid off an $800 bill for one of my cats (who still had to be pts) 3 weeks ago, I was so happy to have finished that off...and then this happened. It figures right?

Sorry to hear about your cat. We lost one a few months ago, it was real hard. It's a never ending cycle sometimes with our furry/scaly kids. I wish my vets took Care Credit. I really would have pursued that veterinary degree if I would have known how much money they charge! We just took 2 in for wellness checks and blood tests and it was over $500!

Keep us updated on Tequila.

Ohh, I moved here 1 1/2 years ago and I was scared the new vet wouldn't take Care Credit but fortunately they did! $500!? It's incredible...you get exploited for simply properly caring for your pet! After everything was all over, I came home and looked at the bill and numerous charges. I got so mad I was close to calling up the hospital and complaining about their charges and asking them if they could recommend another exotic vet. $300 for an xray on a 220 gm baby...seriously?? They even charged $50 because I left her there while I went to work...because I didn't want to get fired and not have money to pay them!

Thanks! Also thanks for the multivitamin tip. I may have to order some myself to give them a try.
