we just got our first beardie. she came from pet smart not sure how old but shes a juvenile i say maybe 2 3 4 months. we have had her a little over a week. trying to get her to eat is a challenge. any advice is more than welcomed. do all crickets carry pin worms i wonder and if so how is it safe for your beardie. and should you worm them. before getting our beardie we researched things for roughly over a year, but there is still so much that we do not know.

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the world of Beardies!! Don't be too concerned yet as they can get what we call "relocation stress" this will pass and your little one should start eating. Glad to hear that you all did your research, crickets can carry pin worms and they can cause your beardie to have parasites but not always...If you notice that your little one continues to not eat and starts loosing weight then a trip to a reptile vet to be checked is always a good thing. Crickets are safe to feed :)
We love pictures :) please do tell us what his/her new enclosure is like so if we see anything that can be tweaked we can help you..

Thank you for the pictures he/she is cute.. From the pictures there are a few things to adjust. Lighting: looks like you have a basking and a UVB spot these need to be defined better.. The need a basking spot that is 95-110F then UVB warm/hot area that is 80-90F then you want to have 2/3rds of the tank covered by UVB lighting with the cool end that is in the 70's. It is important to have these "zones" as they thermoregulate themselves. They need the heat/lighting in order to digest and absorb the nutrients.
Be careful on having his/her tank by the window as it can make it hard to regulate the temp and it can make it more humid which can lead to respiratory issues.. You may want to put some background on to help him/her feel safe and comfortable and cuts down on the reflection. Having a hide on both the hot end and on the cool end so he/she can choose where to be. Get yourself a digital probe they have or a hand held temp gun to get accurate temps.

Crickets, dubia roaches, superworms, butterworms, waxworms, silkworms, hornworms are all good, some are treats as they are high in fats...

Welcome. I love the picture of her standing, she looks like a little action figure! I agree with everything Hdrydr31 said. If your windows are good and there isn't a draft you should be fine, just monitor your temps and humidity closely. If there is a draft you may want to look at getting some window insulation or cover them with plastic or moving the tanks away from the window. We have ours in front of a window but we have double paned windows so there's no air coming in unless we open them.

I get crickets/and small worms like wax and phoenix worms from Josh's Frogs. Hornworms and super worms I like to get from Great Lakes Hornworm and I've also gotten butterworms, silk and wax worms from Linda's Gone Buggie. I like to order from places that are close to me and offer either FedEx or UPS shipping. It's just my preference because we have the worst mail service and one time I ordered crickets and they came in the mail and it was a disaster!

There's another place I know people have had good experiences with CNS feeders.net on FB they tend to have a lot of deals and auctions.
