My question is, is it a thing where bearded dragons, during the brumation season, brumate in spirts? Like they may hide away for a couple days or weeks, then come out for a couple days and weeks, and just keep doing this until brumation season is over?

I've noticed my bearded dragon will be very active and bright and want to come out and eat for a few weeks at a time, and then he will hide away all day for a couple days or weeks.

I got Zeus 4 months ago tomorrow in November, so i've only owned a bearded dragon during the brumation season. Not sure if he is just on / off brumating like i described or if this is something else i need to be worried about.

How old is the dragon? And it is possible for them to brumate in the summer but typically its in the fall/ winter when the weather gets cold and not as much sun - I have heard of dragons brumating in the summer -- you haft to remember babies DO NOT BRUMATE -- normal type of behavior is older than a year or around a year -- or if they are a really big dragon --- younger dragons can get lazy like age 9-12 months where they sleep alot or disappear for a day or two - slow down on eating but normal age of full brumation is older than a year -- the brumation behavior can be brought on by temps being too cold / and or improper UVB lighting or both --

He is five years old.

I am not talking about brumating in the summer, i mean just on and off brumating during the winter fall / winter season. Like in spirts.
