About three months ago, I came across a three year old male beardie in need of a new home. He was kept in less than stellar conditions with very minimum space and fed only crickets. I took him to a herp vet who said he was under weight and that his stool showed a very high coccidia count. He was given antibiotics along with calcium and vitamin supplements. He has recovered nicely and seems healthy, but he will not eat his veggies. I mean nothing, nada, won't touch them. I have researched this and tried everything I could, to no avail. I am afraid he may relapse without a proper diet. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi; And welcome to BDF; Try putting a horn worm in his salad as they attach themselves to the greens and he will have to eat both in order to get the worm.Hope it helps and some others will chime in shortly-river-7

I have an almost 3 year old that just recently started sneaking bites of her salad. I like you was very frustrated with her because I know she needs more greens at this point in her life. What seems to be working at the moment is I put her salad in and put her in front of it. I sprinkle it with bee pollen granules (she likes the sound and smell) and I sprinkle a little bit of her calcium or multivitamin on it. When she sees the powder go on she gets excited I don't know if she thinks its a bug or what. She won't eat it in front of me though, I usually come in to the room while she's eating or she sneaks a bite when I am feeding someone else. She doesn't eat a lot of it but it's a start. I just make sure that her worms are fully gut loaded so hopefully in a round about way she is getting the nutrients.
