Nighttime Humidity? Respiratory?

So my bearded dragon, Apollo, (only 2 or 3 months old) occasionally leaves his mouth a bit open while basking. His daytime humidity levels are fine, 15% - 20%, but during the night for some reason are 40% - 50%. I know to high humidity can cause respiratory problems, and leaving mouth open is a sign of it, but also of controlling temperature. Replies are appreciated!

leaving mouth open while basking may just be his way of regulating temps for himself as well.
Look for other things that may indicate anything respiratory such as having mouth open at other times, or issues breathing.
Check basking temps, it may be a bit warm for him.

Actually a good humidity is 30-40%. You don't want it lower than that because it can cause problems just like having too high humidity can cause problems. I think your nighttime humidity is fine but you want to work on keeping it up during the day. Maybe a small humidifier next to the tank will help.

Yep just called gapping when they have their mouths open to regulate temp..if labored breathing, gurgling, rattling that's different.
