Hey, I dont have a beardie yet but I was wondering if anyone could let me know if its ok to have a night time temp of like 60 degrees because I have read countless articles saying 65 is the minimum but I dont think that it would be necessary to get a ceramic heat emitter for like 5 degrees. thx.

65 is ideal. In the winter, I don't use CHE's and it gets around 61-62 in their tanks. I would say if you have a baby, you really should go no lower than 65, older dragons can handle it a little cooler.

It's possible heat tape would work, but personally I would be worried that my dragons would be up against the glass as they often are when they are sleeping and with them not having the ability to feel heat on their bellies and who knows how far up their side they could burn themselves..
A CHE should be put on a thermostat so you can set the temp you want it to be.

I wouldn't use any heat pad or tape or anything that sticks to the tank. Just a low watt CHE should do the trick. I've been using a Zoomed CHE for the past few days on my dubia and haven't had any issues with it. I don't use a CHE on my dragons. We keep the house comfortable and the dragon tanks stay around 65 degrees maybe even just a few degrees colder but they are older so they handle it well.
