hello everybody my name is tristan, and my beardie's name is Poncho. I just got (Him or her) the other day at petsmart.. when I looked at it.. it ran right up to the edge of the tank and its like we had a heart to heart and I had to get the little fella. I had a bearded dragon when i was younger but didnt know the proper way to take care of it so i figured i would give it another shot. I got a picture of poncho too :) nice to meet all of you reptile lovers :D ....P.S I wanted to go a little extra and he was a "fancy" bearded dragon. I've never seen em before but I loved the color. I thought i would make an account to share my experiences with (Him or her) and ask questions about whatever I need to know.

Welcome from a fellow Petsmart "fancy" bearded dragon owner! Dexter did the same thing to us, she came right up to the tank and told us why she needed to come home with us! She's 2 1/2 now and she's a doll. I learned from this forum that the reason she was considered fancy is that she is actually a hypo bearded dragon. All her nails are clear which means she is lacking in black pigment. Her dark colors are actually more of a lavender/gray.

Would you possibly be able to help answer a few questions I have?

I have used the 36x18x18 tank ExoTera since mine were tiny. I've never had any issues with them being stressed because it was a big tank for them and now they are adults and the tank fits them just fine. As they get older I simplify their decor so they have more floor space.

My husband and I were looking online at different options last night. We found a few enclosures people built themselves with sliding doors on the front. He's going to build Toothless one. It will also benefit me because I'm so short lol.
