My New Beardie has been home now for 1 week the last 2 days i noticed he was not eating as well as he had been and was in his hide more than he had ever been. Woke up this morning and he looked like he was shedding within a few hours it looked like he was done. I have a few questions.

How often do they shed?
What are some signs he is going to shed?
Should he be handled right before or or after a shed?
I have read it is common for them to eat their shed skin. She i leave it in the tank or take it out?

Thanks

Dragons shed alot as babies as they are growing--- and they all shed different areas - your little one looks miserable in the pic w/ all the shed --- I would mist him w/ some warm water in the tank and take a baby soft tooth brush and lightly brush him to loosen that shed --- you can handle them but most times they are grouchy and it can affect their appetite when going thru a major shed like the one hes doing now -- and I would pick up the pieces of shed as they come up as well - I have not heard of them eating their shed but anything is possible as babies will lick

Thanks for your reply but other than not eating or being restless when I went to bed I saw no loose skin and at 9 am he looked like the first picture and then I ran out I came back about 2 hours latter and he was fine fed him and he ate great including mor vegetables than normal but I will mist him more to keep him comfortable

thanks
