Hey!

New to the forum just got a juvenile bearded... Had an adult previously but a while ago. So probably will have many questions Especially because the one I had previously was a super easy keeper he was used to everything ate anything. Nothing phased that old guy.

Fury (they new young guy) is very alert he did have some greens but seems clueless about worms.... I bought him some Phoenix worms and Horne worms. He's not that much of a baby he's about 12-15 inches. But seems skittish still and I am not sure how to calm his nerves about everything. He's got a good appetite for crickets and he likes turnip greens. I am looking forward to any advise.

Thanks guys

Ok his set up is the largest exoterra terrarium they sell he's got a basking rock/cave with a 100 watt bulb gets about 105-110 degrees on his basking surface and about 80 degrees on the cool side of the tank. And he's got a uvb bulb going across the whole thing with 10% bulb. And a 100w night bulb. I ordered him a little hammock for above his basking rock but it's not in yet. He's got a glass bowl with worms and greens in there now so the worms don't crawl about. Those Phoenix worms gross me out hahaha

He's a cutie..
Be careful with the sand as a substrate as it will get ingested and as long as he stays really hydrated impaction can happen. You can get rid of the red heat lamp they do NOT need it, it will actually disrupt their sleep as their 3rd eye the gland on top of their head that senses shadows will detect light. As long as it doesn't get below 65F you'll be fine.

Good alternatives are repti carpet, tiles, paper towels, contact paper......that way they can't ingest it.. and easy for clean up.

Phoenix worms gross me out too only because my critters all seem to poop them out whole!
