Hi,
I'm new to this forum, and happily, tomorrow I'm getting my first bearded dragon baby! It's almost 3mos. old and from the German Giant breed line. I am very excited! But I realized I know very little, after I decided to FINALLY get one after seeing them everywhere, about them. I know their enclosure size requirements, BIGGER is better of course. I would appreciate any input, and information for a newbie that can be given. I'm not new to reptiles, I have chameleons, anoles, and a small tortoise. Which I rescued from a terrible person! But I realize all reptiles have different needs. So with that, I leave you with a pic of the baby, and hopefully, I'll make a few friends on here!!!
Ciao!!!

A German Giant instead of 20-24" get up to 3'. Idk if it's truly a German Giant but I am going to love him rotten anyways. The guys car broke down right as he hit my town, but just txt me and said he's going to come back later tonight if I still wanted him, WHICH OF COURSE I DO!

Your beardie is beautiful and so tiny.
Is it normal for nearly 3mos old ones to be that tiny? This is my first ever beardie!...

Oh wow.. to first answer your question, your dragon looks normal and I'm glad he likes his enclosure. I do want to say something, though... it's good you posted a pic of your enclosure. You really need to ditch the wood chips right away!!! Remove them immediately and replace it with something simple like paper towels on the floor.

By keeping wood chips as a substrate you are setting your dragon up for a short life! If he were ever to accidentally ingest even a small piece of one he could die of impaction! I can't stress this enough... get rid of those chips. Not only is it a HUGE impaction risk, but the oils from wood like that are not good for your dragon's overall well-being.

From your posts you sound like someone that wants to care for your dragon and raise him to be healthy. Please take my advice!

Can & WILL do! I've found out so far wood chips aren't good for anyone! Hah... But I can get a bag of sandbox sand, which I read is fine. And not lethal like the calcium sand they sell.
I tweezer feed him, and he is doing well on little Dubia's and crix. I dusted them with vitamins+D3 then I have calcium without the D3... I have chameleons, and a tortoise, along with a few tree frogs and anoles, and a leopard gecko. So I def have enough supplements.

Is he old enough to start him on veggies? And if so, what veggies do I give him???

I'm a reasonably new owner too. Loose substrate at that age is never recommended. As suggested paper towels are perfectly fine. Alot of members use tiles too and they are wipe clean.

Good looking dragon BTW :)

I know at first the idea of having paper towels as a substrate sounds... well... ugly, but trust me, you won't regret how easy it is. My plan was to use paper towels until Reggie got bigger, but now that she is big enough (about 16 inches), I find myself dragging my heels to put sand in there. :D

I replace the towels twice a week and give her a bath at that time too. After taking the soiled ones out I spray the tank down with a mixture of vinegar and water. After wiping that up I spray with water and wipe down until I can't smell vinegar any more. It works really well! Maybe after I lounge around enough today I may venture to Lowe's and pick up some play sand to wash and sift.

No no, not at all. Aesthetics, are not necessary. Just his health. Until he needs the aesthetics for his own pleasure, and enjoyment. I put down yesterday's junkmail as sub. As soon as he's big nuff for substrate, he'll be going to his own permanent house. We're planning, or more like I'm planning since I'm a stay at homer, taking him on the bus, and to petsmart so he can see other ppl and be petted. Get as tame as one can be. Plus I read that affection, and handling both increases lifespan, and happiness all around. The bus drivers know me, I used to take my cockatiels I used to breed on the bus on my shoulders and to petsmart. It's fun for me and them.

To start with, the German Giant line has not been around for some time. If you did by chance actually have a decendant of the GG line, they never ever have grown to any where near 3', your 20"-24" would be more accurate for a GG. A normal BD generally runs at full size approximately 17"-21".

Your BD appears to be extremely small to be 3 months old.
