I recently acquired my first BD Saturday! I was told it is a leather back, I have no idea the age or sex. Any advice or input of figuring those two things out would be great! I was told it is a hatchling other than that I know nothing else [emoji53]. It currently weighs 8g and is eating 7-9 small crickets.

I am new to bearded dragon but not reptiles, I currently own a butter ball python and a snow motley corn snake.

I have my BD in a 40gal enclosure with lots of high and low decor throughout (high decor is on the hot side and low decor and hide is on the cool side) I have a water dish and a bowl of veggies I change out daily. I dust it's crickets with calcium and multivitamin powder. Hopefully I am doing everything correctly! I have researched their needs but reading and experiencing a BD is two different things!

Beautiful! Welcome to the forum. I agree with Canicke, probably several weeks old. When I got my girl Dexter she was 9g and I just guesstimated that she was about 4 weeks old.

Try to feed it multiple times a day. Little ones do best when they get fed 3 times a day if possible. If not 3 times a day then at least two times. Your's is still settling in but should be eating you out of house and home in no time :D
