Welcome to the forum.

I suggest if you want to take them outside you should put them on a leash. One of the members here has an Etsy.com store and she sells beardie harnesses her name is walkingwithdragons. You can also make your own or even get a ferret harness from the petstore.

If you let them loose in your living room make sure there are no places for them to get lost like heating vents or holes in the wall. One of my beardies has always been real chill and content with just sitting on my lap or on my shoulder. My other one is a little wilder and would rather just run around the house. With him I notice that he will sit on my lap if he is tired so I know if I take him out before his lights go out, he will 8 times out of 10 sit still and fall asleep on my lap. You also want to watch them when they are out together to make sure there is no aggression and if you have a boy and and girl you really want to be careful with them because eventually the male will try to mate with the female.
