Hello I'm mike, I've recently bought a beardie this past weekend , I've been interested in one since xmas, so I went to see my girlfriend this past weekend and went to petsmart and I saw the beardie I was interested in during xmas, he was on sale and my girls mom said ask if I can hold him and we did, was on my hand and then walked up my arm and tilted his head and It was like he was saying buy me, I couldn't resist, so I bought him, and now he's apart of my life, me and girl named him stubbs due to him missing a few toes. At first I name him Ramone, but given he's missing some toes, stubbs suits him better. We put him in a 10 gallon for now, but transferring him to a 20 gallon. I'm so glad I got him, he's like a son to me and look forward to taking good care of him. If anyone has any suggestions on lighting, diet , terrarium setup or any other suggestions, plse feel free to reply anytime. Thank you, Michael p.

Welcome, Stubbs is a perfect name!

You can save money and just get the 40 gallon and skip the 20 all together.

And my girl has a 20 gallon, and been looking on other sites to see if we can find a 40 cheaper for him, but my girl was saying that petsmart has friends and family sale coming up in june,

Petcos right now has a 1 dollar a gallon sale.

I was thinking of getting the highest available but it's not a good time for me.

But it's an awesome solution for people to get an appropriate sized tank for a good price.

Welcome to the forum! And I love the name Stubbs! Can't wait to see pictures. Yea get the 40 the sooner the better, even if it seems really big you can give him hides and things to explore and as he gets bigger you can just remove items giving him more floor space.
You will find good info under several of our signature lines for new comers on general care that should help. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have, great people here that loves our scaly friends.

Today my girl jus put him in the 20 gallon and so far he's being a bit more active given the space of the 20 gallon. Can't wait to see him in the 40 gallon. Will be getting the 40 gallon in 6 weeks when petsmart has there friends and family sale. I will be putting up more pics of my boy stubbs when I visit my girl in two week. I definitely wanna look around and get some ideas of setups for his terrarium, thinking of getting him this trex skull statue for him , so he can climb on it. Looking at videos on YouTube also cause thinking of building him a nice basking cave to bask and sleep . Thank you again for replies, it's really great to have him part of my life.

Petsmart is where I got 2 of my 3 ExtoTerra 40 gallon tanks because they always have the best sales on them. I'm very short so I like a tank that has front opening doors so I can reach in easily and get my dragons.
