Hi all my name is Suzy I got two bearded dragons at a reptile fair yesterday. I know nothing about them and so have been researching for almost 24 hrs straight. I don't even know what morph they are or how old. The guy did tell me they were both female and one is a leatherback. I think he said they are like 4 or 5 weeks old. I'll prob have lots a questions in the near future so I just wanted to introduce myself.

Hi and congrats on your new babies! This forum is amazing, ask away!....the biggest things to keep in mind are nutrition and lighting. You're going to need uvb lighting. Basking spot about 110, 80 ish on the cool side. Night time temps can dip in low 70s high 60s. For bedding, you want tile or reptile carpet. Babies can become easily impacted. Crickets are a pretty good staple feeder, but I prefer dubia roaches. I encourage you to try some! I feed a spring mix lettuce (dark greens), sweet potatoes, papaya and mango on occasion, and mealworms or wax worms as a treat. I bathe mine every other day, and offer him water out of a dropper on a daily basis. So that's my approach, I'm sure others will chime in shortly. They've been a great help to me :)

I just got a great pic of my girls. They are doing really well. Out growing thier tank but the new Viv should be ready this weekend. They eat crickets twice a day and are offered various greens and fruits daily I leave veggies in tank changing to fresh ones twice a day. I enjoy them so much.

Welcome! They are adorable! You got some good advise, I wanted to add that you could also just just plain paper towel for substrate. Easy to clean up!

Thanks I use paper towels now I have slate tiles going in the new home. I have them in my geckos homes now and they are a dream to keep clean. I was wondering when the dragons begin eating more veggies and less crickets? They don't eat hardly any if the veggies or fruit I give them even though I keep it really fresh. On the other hand they will devour 15-20 crickets 2x a day.

Every dragon is different when it comes to greens. My older one Dexter loved greens when she was younger, now not too much. My little one, Luci is following her footsteps he usually eats his greens but lately he hasn't been eating them. He's also changing his cricket eating schedule too. He went from eating 2 X a day to just in the morning and now he just wants to eat at dinner.
