Hey y'all,
I'm a new owner and I am concerned about the health of my new friend. We've had him for a little over two months and we're thinking he's maybe 4 months old (we purchased him from PetSmart.) He's recently developed almost blood red lips and a good amount of kinda slime or mucus in and around his mouth. He's active and he eats and drinks just fine but, being new to this, I have no idea what could be wrong. Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

I am going to have a vet tech look at your dragon -- but in the mean time can you tell me your set up please - UVB is it a coil or a tube fixture - basking temps and how are you getting them ? Digital probe thermometer / stick ons? What are you feeding him? His diet please

I had a person get back w/ me thats very experienced w/ dragons this is what she had to say I am still waiting for the vet tech to get back w/ me she usually responds at nite

It looks like mouth rot starting. They can use some raw honey watered down or betadine watered down [ 10 parts water to 1 part betadine ] to dab on e few times a day or chlorhexidine. Find a good reptile vet, the dragon will possibly need antibiotics.

Here is a website to find a reptile vet www.arav.org
If you live in a small town type in a bigger cities zip code closest to you
