Hi, we recently got a bearded dragon, Trex, who is two years old. Previously T wasn't kept in the most ideal conditions and I think her growth is a bit stunted - she's about 13.5 inches from tip to tip. Anyways we've had her a couple days and are still getting her new tank set up. She went from a 20 gallon tank to a 60"×18"×16" tank. We had to build the screen top and now are trying to figure out where to mount the uvb light we got. We got a Reptisun T5 HO 10.0 and a sunblaster with reflector fixture. Originally I wanted to mount it inside the tank but now I'm not sure if that's going to be too close. For heat we have a 150w intense basking bulb, we also have a 100w ceramic heat emitter. I'm not sure we will be able to mount the uvb outside the enclosure now because of the lid we built. Right now with the way things are set up her basking spot is about 7inches from the che and is about 103F, we can adjust her spot and use the 150w build for basking and move her down a few inches. Do we mount the fixture without the reflector to mount inside? or do we try and mount on top. We were going to mount it from above on the screen.
