Hey folks, I've been on the forum a little while but this is my first post. I'm new to beardies, but not to reptiles. I have 4 snakes. I got a beardie a couple weeks back, and he was in very poor shape. I got him off of some people living in my area, and he had no UV light, poor heating, his enclosure was too small, and it just reeked of urine. His substrate was also a blue/black sand that had dyed him a strange color, and he had appeared to have swallowed a lot of it as well as having gotten a lot in his nose.

I have since gotten everything up to spec with proper temperatures and proper lighting. His diet is the one that Germ posts to every newbie, to the letter, and he is having regular bowel movements... if a bit runny.

His name is Khal Drogo. I've attached some pictures here.

There's a close up of his face, and he has some greyish blue tint going on right on the front of him. I'm pretty sure it's shed, but I just wanted to check with everyone here... I haven't seen beardie shed before. Is he alright?

I also welcome any comments to my set-up. I have recently cleaned up and removed his water bowl. The UV bulb is a reptisun 10.0, and I'm using a 75 watt basking bulb for heat. The other bulb in the big dome is a 26w uc bulb, just to help light his whole tank. The room he's in is a little dark otherwise. His basking spot sits right at 102 degrees. What do you all think?

The nose appears to be in the beginnings of a healthy shed. Kudos to you on a job well done.

His greens should be cut smaller though. The old rule of thumb, nothing bigger than the space between his eyes is a good guide. May I ask what it is?

His salad is an equal portions mix of collard greens, endive, and spaghetti squash. I want to find some mustard, turnip, and dandelion greens just for the variety, but I've been having trouble locating them.
