Hello,

I adopted a bearded dragon in May, he was passed down to me from my cousin who could not provide for him anymore. i was gone for two weeks and left him with my parents, once i got back I saw he was depressed, they said he didn't eat for three days and was never his energetic self. I took him on a car ride and did everything I knew he loved, but he still seems sad. Does anyone know how I can help him?

Much appreciated.

He has a 24'' Reptisun 10.0 Uvb fixture, and a 150 watt basking light. His basking light is about ten inches above the spot he is usually basking.

Ok you have good lighting - how old is the UVB and where do you have it placed - your screen on the tank will determine placement and distance - have you tried doing some enrichment like getting him out of the tank maybe taking him outside? Do you spend time w/ him?

the light is two months old; I have an extra to replace in November. I bought it as soon as I got him. I'll take pictures of the enclosure and everything once I get home. ( He is still in a 36''18''x18'' enclosure right now but I have a 4'x2'x2' coming soon.)
I take him out every day and have a little ramp so he can come out while I'm present. He will sit on my chest while I read a book or relax. He has been taking food from my hand again so I think he's felling a little better.
