Not really that much to say.

I am a huge reptile fan, despite me being a girl, my Birthday is on Thursday and so I'll be getting a pair of Bearded Dragons, I've been doing research for months now and I'm here on this forum to see how other people treat their lizards and if I ever need any help, I'll be getting two of them, in a 40+ gallon tank from Donedeal.ie, HD pictures have been sent to me and they seem in very good condition.

I am a 2D and 3D animator, despite the fact that I'm still in first year in Secondary school, I do it since it is a passion of mine, and having a bearded dragon to keep me company while I draw on a computer will help me loads. I love doing Digital and traditional art and I spend all my spare time on Youtube and Deviantart.

I hope I enjoy my time here and wish to be here for a long time to come.

Welcome to BDF. Please be aware that housing two bearded dragons together isn't a good idea. They will fight for dominance and the best basking place. So, you'll need two tanks or a large enough tank for them both with a separator between the middle of the tank. If they fight, they'll be missing toe limbs and tails.

Hello and Welcome to BDF. Noella is so right in housing beardies together. Please consider two tanks or a big one split in two. Ask away with questions and concerns....:)

Thank you for this information, but the dragons are a male and a female, will they still fight and we do have another tank in our garage, it's just alot smaller than it should be, maybe 20 gallons.

-EDIT-
I've seen pictures that the seller has sent me, he says that are 18 months old and are siblings, they've grown up together their whole lives, does this change anything?

If you read the article, Is Bearded Dragon Co-habitation a good plan? ,
Periodically, the right combination of 2 females will be successful, but more often than not, fail sooner or later. Males should never be housed together. Male/Female combinations should only be for breeding purposes, only until the deed is done (Generally minutes to a week), then immediately separated.

It only takes ONCE for serious injury to occur, no matter what the cause or motive, many times there is no apparent reason. There is not only the physical aspect, but the stress factor which affects their all round well-being, as well. While you may not notice physical problems (BDs Are notorious for hiding, not showing problems until too late, Dragon down) it can & will shorten their over all life expectancy.

Another aspect to consider is illness, should one get sick or have medical problems, very likely there is the possibility you will have two sick animals or at least have to have the other checked also. The price of one Vet visit, fecal & medications, would generally, pretty much cover the cost of a new setup, if you shop properly.

Please take this into consideration, when contemplating cohabitation. More times than not, it is complications in the making, sometimes with very drastic consequences. You may come home to carnage that you won’t soon forget.

Cohabitation of BDs is for the benefit of the Keeper, whether it be for their viewing pleasure, or cost\room effectiveness. It is not in the best interest of the animal’s health & well being.
Now you have 2 siblings that will try to mate, BD's mating is not all nice & lovey, but can be quite violent, always with the possibility of injury. If it is not your intention to breed your siblings, not a good plan at the best of times, they should be separated. Even if quite familiar with each other, the risk of one turning on the other, for no visible reason is a very real possibility. As posted, You may come home to carnage that you won't soon forget. Please read the link over again, seriously contemplate it's message, it IS a very genuine danger. They should be separated as soon as possible.

Thank you for that, I'll see what we can do as soon as possible, but even so we cannot afford two tanks, the tanks here are 150 euros or more, and I will have to save up for this. I'll be taking great consideration into what you've said and I only want them to be in the best health they can.

-Edit-

http://exoticpets.about.com/od/beardeddragons/f/beardiestogeth.htm

It says here, (I am just looking around for other peoples opinions.)

''Question: Can Bearded Dragons Live Together?
Keeping bearded dragons together is commonly mentioned but highly debated on some forums. There is no set answer to this question: it can work in some situations, but sometimes bearded dragons need to be kept separately.
Answer: That is actually a tough question to answer because it depends a lot on the individuals and the set-up. There are things that can increase the chances of this working:
  • A large enclosure. Bearded dragons need a fairly large enclosure to start with, and if you are keeping more than one in a tank then the larger the better so they can have some space to "call their own." I'd recommend at least a 125 gallon tank for housing more than one bearded dragon together.
  • Bearded dragons that are kept together should be roughly the same size as this will avoid the situation of larger beardies dominating smaller ones.
  • Never put more than one male in a tank.
  • A female should not be housed with males until she is about two years old (old enough to breed), and make sure she is healthy and in good condition. Younger, smaller, or unhealthy dragons are likely to run into problems including egg binding.
Even when all these condition are met, sometimes they will not get along as it depends on the individuals involved. Also, males may be too aggressive with females, especially during breeding season, so they may need to be separated. If you choose to house bearded dragons together, just keep in mind that you may need to separate them if it isn't working out.''

Although, at the last part I do not agree, I will be watching them for the next few days very closely to see how they are coping with the stress or moving, and if I see any past scars or injuries on them I will separate them immediately, may having to split the tank in two temporarily so I can buy a new one if I have not done so by then, or get a spare one from the garage.

I've also done my research about the financial risks of breeding, I wouldn't want anything to happen like this and I'll be trying to avoid it at all costs, I'll be trying my absolute best to get a second tank.

Oh yes.....get another tank!! Having babies is a ton of work and you must also consider the financial aspect. If you house them together sooner or later you will have babies or a serious injury. Good luck and keep us posted on how they are doing....

I will, I may even send pictures, I don't plan to have hatchlings, but if I do, I have enough in my bank account to take care of them financially for a few months, the spare smaller tank will also come in handy if that happens. I want to be prepared.
