about a week ago I bought the Exo terra intense basking spot 150W. For the first week, it was going great! Temps. were at 105 to 110 but this week it's only going to 91 or 92 MAX. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this or is it because the lamp is cheap.

I use those bulbs sounds like you got a old one or dud- take it back to the store you got it and see if they will exchange it

What kind of housing do u have for the bulb? You want it to be able to take intense heat , I believe a “ceramic housing” is what you want , if you dont have one already

I have a ceramic holder but maybe it's not big enough? could it also be the outside temperature

You need one for the wattage- look inside the dome and see what wattage it says- outside temp?

Hi; Return it!! Pet stores will take it back; just say it’s defective. The ExoTerra is notorious for that. Get the Zoomed CLEAR basking bulb for heat; it’s the best heat output. And u mite be ok with a 100 watt unles u have a 2feet high enclosure, than a 150 watt works. U can always get a higher or lower basking platform I do a lower one in the summer & higher one In the winter. Play around with it or buy both the 100 & 150 watt and return one after u get the temp correct & see which one works. Also u need to use a digital thermometer those are the most accurate & place the probe on the basking spot.
