Hi everyone I finally go myself another bear die since ryuu was doing so great I have the baby in a 20 gallon long for now until I get another 40 gallon it has a 100 watt basking and a 10.0 uvb but I'm having a bit of a problem he won't bask often unless its under the uvb he's not very active and I've been only able to get him to eat every other morning and he won't touch crickets just horn worms or mealworms. I don't know what's wrong with him my other one is doing great but I have a solar glo bulb on her I'm posting pics first one is the baby the second is ryuu my first beardie which is in a large exo Terra tank with a 160watt solar glo mercury bulb. I've only had the baby for about three weeks but I'm just a little worried since he doesn't run after food like my last one did ive even been giving him vitamin drops and yes the temps are around 97-103 and cool side around the 80's

2 things:

1: Your temps are not high enough to enable proper ease of digestion in a youngster & should be in the vicinity of 110F to provide this.

2: It is very possible that your Youngster has become "Worm Spoiled" (Like a child to Candy & Sweets), a very difficult habit to break. The majority of worms are quite Fatty, therefore do not make a good staple food & should only be periodic feeders or treats. When feeding Mealworms, it is imperative that you have the temps high enough to be able digest them properly, this is one of the common mistakes that has led to the Myth about mealworms being a bad feeder.

The older beardie ryuu in the large exo Terra tank has the mercury bulb the baby in the 20 gallon long has a uva 100 watt basking bulb and a 10.0 uvb bulb and it does get to those temps as long as I don't have the air conditioner on. I'm doing everything I did with my older dragon I just don't understand why this one isn't so active or ever that hungry
