Just got a new beardie baby first one. Habitat is good on temps and humidity but can’t get it to eat on a regular basis. Only thing I have not checked yet is the uvb. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

He's going thru relocation stress- he should be eating a little tho- how old? Please go over your husbandry - please No coils for a uvb - you want surface basking temps taken w/ a digital probe thermometer- these things I have posted are crucial to the health of the dragon

Believe he is about 3-4 months. What do you mean no coils for uvb? Do have both digital thermometer and surface temp gun. Basking areas range from around 86 to 101. Cool side ranges between 65 and 78. Tried feeding in separate 10 gallon but just wants to glass skate.

Surface basking temps should be 105-110 for him- a coil uvb would be in a dome - they are inadequate and a health hazzard- you want a long tube fixture-- I can post links to 3 good ones if you need me to

Have the tube uv light but have heard that the screen mesh that comes with the set up may need to be changed bc holes are too small and doesn’t allow enough light. I will adjust the basking temperatures and change out top. Hopefully that does the trick. Also I noticed his tail was black and has like white dried up skin on the tip. Any concerns there

So the tail is shed -- let it do its thing do not peel or pick -- we dont want open sores / bleeding -- the UVB needs to be unobstructed or NO screen-- is it a Reptisun brand bulb? - you can get a wider holed screen so the UVB can sit on top but it MUST be a T 5 -- T 8's are not strong enough to go thru screen at all --- w/ that being said distance is different from NO screen and sitting on top of screen --- please let me know what your going to do w/ the screen so we can get it properly placed for the tank --- let your dragon acclimate to his tank and surroundings - proper surface basking temps taken w/a digital probe thermometer they are the most accurate - IR guns are good but certain basking materials will throw them off - so its best to have the digital probe -- w/ all this good your dragon will acclimate to the tank faster - does he have stress marks on his tummy now? Here is a link for nutrition ignore the kale info its outdated http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html
You can get him some BSFL www.symtonbsf.com order large and feed them on his salads first thing in the morning they are a great staple feeder -do not dust them-- make sure your dusting his main insect feeder tho w/ calcium D3 one time per feeding 5 x per week lightly coated - also vitamins w/ beta carotene one time per feeding 2 x per week light coated - your UVB is going to help him absorb/ synthesize the calcium hes eating --- this is extremely important --
