New Beardie Owner

Hi. My name is Dave and I am a new beardie owner. I have wanted one for ages but my wife doesn't like them.

He is called Yoda (yes I'm a star wars fan), 3 years old and I'm pretty sure he is the pogona vitticeps type of beardie. He is very friendly and laid back. I have a 55 x 27.5 x 23 inch vivarium. I have learned a lot so far but welcome any advice.

Welcome to the forum! Don't worry about the wife....she will fall in love with him in no time I have so many people that say they are afraid of them but then sit and pet them for hours!

It was actually her idea to get him for as my early birthday gift so I was shocked. I think they are gorgeous animals. I'm currently trying to find out Yoda's favourite fruit and veg.

That's the face that makes me guilty I have to go to work!

It's a challenge to find their "favorite" anything since they can change their mind at the drop of a hat. My boy has always eaten every type of green that I've given him with no problem. My oldest girl on the other hand, when she used to eat her salads, would change her mind weekly.
