Hi All,

New owner here and just looking for some advice after reading/hearing lots of mixed things!

We bought our little guy from a local reptile centre, we also got the Vivarium from the same place, it was pre built for another customer who ended up not taking it so got a good deal… everything also pre-installed!

The enclosure is 4x2x2 and the lights are Arcadia ProT5 12% and Arcadia basking floodlight (150w UVA).

The UVB tube was installed dead centre of the enclosure, I e since read this should be more over the basking side of the enclosure so without moving the brackets (yet) I’ve slid it over to the basking area.

Is the lighting ok? Doesn’t need to be moved? If I need to move it over the basking area more I may move the fitting to the front of the enclosure so I can’t be seen when looking in.

Additional enrichment is on the way, we have a couple of hides for him to go in and climb and a couple of other things he can climb all being delivered in the next day or 2!

ok your on track w/ good lighting -- the UVB should not be on the back wall and it can be moved over towards the basking light if you can w/ out burning the fixture itself- you need a piece of basking decor directly under the UVB approx 12-15 inches the dragon will go to the light he needs so dont worry about that but you want him able to get directly under it w/ the distance mentioned - please replace the bulb in about 10-11 months from date of install -- you need two digital probe thermometers I dont see any and I would also get a digital probe hygrometer placed on the back center wall - it will read the whole tank for humidity 40-50% is optimal you dont want it under 20 or over 70%-- surface basking temps should be 95-100 for a dragon over 6 months - ambient temps around 100 on the hotside 90's mid tank and 80ish cool side of tank -- Did you get a hide for the dragon? He needs one- if you need links for the gauges let me know I can post some

Thanks, I am going to move the UVB Light after work, it's currently mounted on the ceiling, my plan is to move it over to cover the basking area, I'll likely mount it on the ceiling between the glass door and basking lamp.

There is a digital thermometer and Hyrdrometer in the basking end, I need to move the cable for the Hydrometer so i can place it in the centre of the tank.

We're currently in those temp ranges, however I do have a new basking platform coming and will recheck the surface temp when that arrives and adjust accordingly.

One of his hides arrives today, and we have a few other bits on order that should be here in another day or 2 (new basking platform, another hide/log)

Thanks for the pointers :)

Just make sure your temps are in range w/ the digital probe thermometer and the UVB distance is good as well - your dragon should thrive w/ those on par -
