Hello, any help is appreciated..
I have a beardie that's not really eating often but again I don't know how often they should eat? His belly was clean 2 days ago but yesterday I saw some spots possibly stretch marks. I gave him small mela worms today and he at 3 but his appetite is not consistent. He has a 4ft tank I was thinking of making it smaller. His basking is 100-108..any help pls.

How are you getting surface basking temps? Digital probe thermometers are the best++ what kind of uvb are you using coil or long tube fixture? How old is the dragon? Spots please post pic of him-

I have a thermometer gun..I think that's what it's called. I have a powersun bulb with (uva/uvb/basking) he's less than a year.. Petco estimated 5-6month. I haven't been able to find a good log so I made a make shift area to reach the right temperature. He just ate Sunday( some crickets) but I'm not sure what his feeding should be. He doesn't eat everyday.

He should eat every day at this age - where is the PowerSun? Top of screen? If so you need to unobstruct it the screen is blocking the UVB rays especially if the screen is a fine mesh like a screen door - MVB's are great for heat but not so much UVB - so w/ that being said please get a long tube fixture for a back up it is recommended so hes getting the correct amount of UVB- please get two digital probe thermometers Zoo Med makes them place one on the spot where he bask to get a accurate temp - temp guns are good but cannot read off of certain materials and hammocks - you want surface basking temps of 105-110 for a dragon of 6 months and younger over 6 months 95-100 - so at his age its going to be trial and error - if hes sitting off to the side of the lamp its too hot - other probe on the cool side 80ish during the day -- salads are to be offered every day http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html ignore the kale info its outdated and a good staple feeder- I would get him some BSFL www.symtonbsf.com order large and use those as salad lures feed first thing in the morning do not dust these but the main staple insect should be dusted every 2-3 days w/ calcium D3 lightly coated on the insect you will need a bowl like this to keep the BSFL in https://www.amazon.com/MACGOAL-Reptile-Ceramic-Leopard-Bearded/dp/B084VJJWTV?tag=exoticpetnetw-20
also please get a digital probe hygrometer for humidity one like this you can order them off Amazon
https://dubiaroaches.com/products/exo-terra-digital-hygrometer?_pos=1&_sid=ac857912b&_ss=r you want your humidity 40-50% that is optimal but not under 20% or over 70% - place the probe on the back center wall of the tank for it to read the whole tank - I can post 3 good UVB links for you if you like -- also I am not seeing any spots --- he looks grumpy :)

Thank you for all this information!!!!! I will start making changes! He does look grumpy! Lol! When I turn on the light 6am bc I work early I expect him to eat but does he need to heat up first? I also have not touched him a week but I started see stretching marks. When should I handle him. I started to when we came home 2 weeks ago but this week I stopped entirely.

How is he getting water? You can rinse the salads before serving - and yes he needs to warm up before he eats like an hour or so - also drop water on his nose to see if he will lick -- I would offer him water at least once a week - watch his poops they will tell you if hes dehydrated - dark formed poop moist and white formed moist urate - any dried out crusty hes dehydrated - please get a 24" long tube fixture UVB Arcadia Pro T 5 12% bulb 24 watt or a Zoo Med w/ a Repitsun 10.0 T 5 this comes w/ a 5.0 or a Sunblaster Nano Tech you need the Reptisun 10.0 T 5 for that fixture -- keep working w/ him - hes going thru relocation stress so his eating will be off but he should be eating something - the BSFL are good hand tamers -- feed like 20-25 at a time on his salads if he eats them too fast they will come out digested - he should be eating at least 20-25 appropriate sized crickets at each feeding - only dust the crickets ONCE per feeding -- and please dont leave any crickets in the tank -- I recommend getting him on dubia roaches better feeder and he will eat less of them as they are more filling - I have websites if you like - they are cheaper to get on line than pet stores
