Ok guys, I've been thoroughly bitten by the dragon bug.
I'm about ready to take on a bearded that the owner says bites and is aggressive. I know it's because he's not happy where he's at, and because the 'owner' had admitted he doesn't handle very often. Says he's about a year old.
Best options for taming this little beast would be greatly appreciated. He's absolutely gorgeous and I will have everything set up just like my Gojira (they will not be together, trust me lol). My heart just goes out to this little boy.
The guy says he's about a year old. I'll know more tomorrow after I pick him up. I'm going to stop by the store to get some repti-carpet for the 40g I have and a good basking log. I already have the lights and the food :D
I will give him some time to adapt, I'll just need some suggestions of how best to proceed with teaching him that humans are good to be around :)

I think it's good that you want to take this little guy in. You'll have to be patient with him and let him learn to trust you. It won't take him long to realize he's safe and loved, and he'll calm down. When will you be picking the little man up?

Also, you'll want to have things set up so that they can't see each other at all. Otherwise your new boy will go all alpha male and start head bobbing and black bearding. I had to arrange my low humidity reptile room so that none of them could see each other, or Ezra the corn snake, to keep everyone calm and happy.

Give him time to settle in to his new home. Don't handle him too much. You can put a scarf or shirt of yours in the tank so he gets used to your smell. Also, talk to him a lot during the day and at night when it's just before his lights go off, talk to him and gently touch him. When they are sleepy their guard is down a little bit so he should let you pet him.

On the scarf thing, that's what I did with Gojira. I wore a soft piece of fabric in my shirt several days in a row for a couple hours each, then put in the tank. He sleeps on it now :D
The good news, the home he's going to sits right next to my desk and I work from home so I can talk to him constantly.
I do also know, for lack of space, both these boys are going to be directly across from each other and I was already told that Gojira didn't like other lizards (any reptiles for that matter lol) so this will be a new experience lol. I may just do some moving furniture type stuff to get the tanks side by side since I block off those areas. I'm kind of limited on movement though as I may be looking at rotator cuff surgery and moving very large items may not be the smartest thing right now lol.

Here he is, and I need a name. I know he's about 15.5" long, I won't do weight till he's had some time to calm down. However, I did hold him for a short period while putting his carpet in the tank (one handed) and he did fine. I'm looking forward to teaching him that not all humans are bad :)
The pics don't do him justice, I'm pretty sure the morph is citrus as he is very orange and very bright.

and Gojira is very upset with me right now hehehe
black damn near from head to toe lol and head bobbing almost to the beat of the song playing (Highway to Hell hehehe).
I had to move the tanks to where they were side by side so that he couldn't see the other dragon lol

Just an update on Mr. Alduiin. He is NOT aggressive like the guy had told me. OMG he's an absolute sweetheart, just terrified of everything lol.
Both my son and I can reach in and pet him and when I had him in hand getting the last few items ready for his home he just cuddled up and laid there.
He does open his mouth and at times can hiss slightly, but only if you do something unexpected. I'm hoping to be able to pull him out for cuddles in a couple of days. He hasn't started eating well yet, but I'm confident once the newness wears off he'll dig in. He actually drank water off my hands today so that was pretty awesome :)

Alduiin will settle down over time. My little Chance hissed at me for quite a while when I went to pick him up. Eventually he realized that he wasn't in any danger. Alduiin looks and sounds like a total sweetheart :) I'm glad you found him.
