I have a new baby coming tomorrow night. She is the size of my baby 'Cayanne' now and she's suppose to be 8-months old.Very tiny from what I can see of her in pic's She was being sold as a disabled baby because she has a tail nip-3-were being kept together and she is the smallest and I guess she has not got enough to eat or had to fight for any food she did get. Good thing I had an extra tank in the house. So this will be a challenge as I never took on an older beardie but she needs a home, so I will see what I can do to get her healthy and to grow some.Any suggestions for getting her healthy?? I know I have to get more crix; and more worms, and salads for them. And I guess I will just do my best, with her. Poor Cayanne is in a bad shed really coming off of her tonight and she not a happy girl right now.Her back, head and chest are all going at the same time.I mist her earlier and it just loosened it enough to start it coming off. Poor baby.Well I will check back in when I get the new baby settled in tomorrow night. river-7

congrats on the new baby! I'd suggest a good quality multi vitamin and if you are able, try to get her outside in the natural sun as much as possible, with weekly baths.

Congrats! Make sure she's got a good UVB light and high temp basking spot. Feed her as much as she wants and she should grow in no time. I would start her out with a nice warm bath and make sure she is hydrated.

Andyurgay; she has a black tail and she is being sold as disabled. What to do for that?? And yes I have a deck out in the yard and no sprays in yard as I am the only one using it. But the tail concerns me???Suggestions besides what I am thinking.river-7

Patsey; She is in my plans for a bath, first thing and I tested her tank and it came up to 109.% right a away. And I do have a uvb spiral right now and it's only 5.0 for now until I get the hood for the 10.0 which will probably be tomorrow. Any suggestions for her tail?? river-7

No pics as yet just came back with her uvb 2-nd one first did not work but this does. and her tail is just a nip but her weight concerns me as she has a belly on her but her little legs are like match sticks.I don't think it too much that a good diet won't fix; she was labled as disabled because of a tail nip and it's healed and she had her bath and lots to eat and she's had 2-horns and salad this am and I just gave her this juvie moist pellet thing that just came out. The women at petsmart said I hope she's not prego; now I got something else to worry about as her brother was in with her and her sister but what are signs of prego in a female dragon??river-7

Patsy; she has a big belly and little match sticks for her legs and i'm hoping this is not MBD. I had 1-die on me from this and I know the signs. but hopefully if she's got some of the signs it can be controlled never reversed but controlled so she can live a reasonable life. But it could also be neglect we will see in a month-guess what she's doing filling her face as usual that's what makes me think she's not been fed properly. And after a couple of horn worms a great big poop-so no worries there and shes eating salads very good so she's well hydrated.and her stool was good white urates and brown stool well formed . Oh what a thing to talk about first thing in the morning. Now I put an add up to see if I can get her a bigger tank as all I had here was a 30-gal; and it don't seem big enough for her to move around in. Any suggestions would be appreciated river-7

I hope she's not pregnant. How old is she again? I heard that you can sometimes feel eggs in their belly if you run your finger down the middle. I'm not sure though, i haven't had to deal with that yet.

I think all you can do is wait and see if her legs get stronger. Does she seem to be walking okay? If it makes you feel better, my boy Luci has always had a bigger belly with skinnier legs. Dexter filled out evenly and has big thighs and a big tail but Luci filled out in the belly first. He's since gotten some fat on his legs but nothing compared to his sister.
