Hey guys I'm new to this forum and new owner of a beareded dragon. I tried to rescue before this one but it died :( due to the fact that previous owners never cared for him. So I decided to get a baby one but I'm wondering if anyone could tell me the type of dragon he is? Also does anyone have some good tricks to get their dragons to eat veggies or drink water ? so far he or she only eats about 20 crickets a day dusted with calcium every other day. I was told he or she was about 2 months old currently hes about 6.5 inches long

Welcome and congratulations!! Your new little one is a cutie for sure! We have come up with a new section for general info and care you will find the link in both my signature line and in PatsyB signature line that gives a ton of info that we are adding to along the way to help people.
If you could let us know what your set up is like we can help in any way to get things set for your little one, pictures are always good :) (size tank, lighting, basking temp, warm temp, cool temp, food items, that kind of stuff)

Don't worry about the eating of the greens yet as babies really don't eat much of them as they are in the growth phase so that's primarily bugs 80% and greens 20% The moisture they get from the bugs is pretty much what they need, as they really don't identify standing water as something to drink. So as long as he/she is eating well, shedding well, and looking active and happy that's really what matters :)

In the link mentioned above you will also find 2 good links for food items, there is a comment section on sizes/ages, a very good lighting section and soon (tonight) a section on supplements and diseases/ailments.

Look forward to seeing your little one grow!

Thank you. Hes set up right now is a 20 gal tank with the dome light for basking with a 75w bulb the basking temp is 100- 110 degrees. I also have a repti sun 10.0 compact bulb for now but I need to get the florescent type. Hes active but really doesnt do much but bask all day. He scraches the glass at times and really doesn't go around the tank he just stays on the basking log alot. I try to carry him often so he gets used to me and stops running away from me.

Well that sounds about right that's really all mine does too is bask :) your basking is good what about the warm and cool areas? It won't be too long before the 20 gal is too small so keep that in mind for the long term. Yep keep handling him they can get pretty squirmy so be careful so he doesn't take a leap..

warm side is in the 80s and cool side is low mid 70s or so. Yeah thats why I carry him alot so he can be friendly when he or she is older.

As far as the water goes, I'll put mine in his water dish and dip my fingers into the water to where I have a droplet of water build up on tip of my finger then let the droplet of water drop onto the tip of his nose, if he's thirsty he will drink it then lower his head into his bowl and drink. I do this every day, sometimes he drink n sometimes hi just looks at me like I'm stupid then runs off.

That's really good that he will drink like that.. Word of advise watch the humidity level in that tank being that it's a 20 gal and with all the lights to keep it at a temp they need it can really raise the humidity to the point they can get respiratory issues.. Most of us do not keep water dishes in with them but will offer them water outside their tanks in the tub/sink etc. They also get most of their water intake during the day from their bugs and greens.25-40% is pretty good level.

Thank you I'm going to have to try it. I just want to make sure he's hydrated.

Thats the reason I dont put a water dish inside his tank but I need to buy a humidity gauge

You can really tell if he is hydrated by the color of the urates nice and white that's good if it's yellow that's not. also if around his eyes are sunken in that means he needs water..
