Last Thursday I got my baby bearded dragon. He just shed some skin, yesterday he started glass surging a bit, now it is a bit more frequent, right now he just walks near a window surfs a bit, goes away and repeat. Any idea what is the cause in my setup?

Any idea what is the cause in my setup? 100wat basking lighting bulb, arcadia t5 pro 12%, for the last 2 days he ate a bit less but still easts, poops normally, urate can be bit watery, eats rocket leaves sometimes. Right now, he is very active, running from one side to the other, to calm down a bit later, sit for a bit and then repeat, any idea what stresses him or to change/improve?

Try removing ornaments too see if thats whats causing it. That probe does look like a snake and the skull looks pretty sinister. If it stops then perhaps introduce stuff in one at a time until bd starts glass surfing again?

They usually require a bit of time to adjust to their new home.

Could be a possibility that the problem is not inside but out. Try observing him covertly? Do you have other pets? is the vivarium looking out in a high traffic area? Could just be her reflection too. I reckon she will stop by the time u find out whats causing it.

As long as there isnt any health problems i would probably not worry about it unless it carries on much longer.

When i first got mine she used to glass surf just before she would poop. Its like she doesnt want to mess up her home. Babies are generally more nervous and very active. They get more docile as they get older and bigger.

Lastly imo 42c is a little too high? Personally i try to recreate the monsoon season in Australia as apposed to super dry/arid conditions. Your humidity looks fine and so does your lighting but then again I'm not an expert so take my advice and any others you get with a pinch of salt.

Give him time to adjust, some beardies take upto a month to calm down, hes in a box, of course hes gonna want to go through the only opening there is , i put a towel over my beardies tank for the first two months, beautiful enclosure, you’re doing a good job so far.

I was thinking the same thing. If this has been custom made by you then a lot of thought and research has gone into it to making it not only functional and easy to maintain (right down to the textured floor and maximising space by utilising different layers) but being aesthetically appealing as well.

Does your uvb hood have a reflective mirror in it?
It does, It is arcadia t5 pro kit.

I will give him time to adjust, he seems to be especially annoyed/scared at morning. Perhaps it is like you all said to new home, maybe he doesn't take shedding well.

How often should I give him water with pipette and how much? Sometimes when he sees it, he goes right to it and drinks it, other times he looks at me as I am an insane.

That all depends on your bearded dragon. I offer mine water every other day or especially after they’ve had a good poop. And if they feel like drinking the will and if they don’t they won’t. It all depends on your bearded dragon and what you feed them. I give my beardies zucchini or veggies high in water a couple times a week as well so that they are also getting hydrated from their food. Also what is the uvb percentage of your bulb I use reptisun so I don’t know a lot about the Arcadia bulbs but i believe beardies should have the 14% one, I believe they also make a 12% and a 7% uvb bulb but it doesn’t produce enough uvb for beardies. Hope this helps :)
