13087280_232189863838881_7621592445670869062_o.jpg I would like to introduce Simon to the family!! I saw him last week at the store and him and I played a game of "Simon says" in that we went from side to side on the tank face with each time at the corner a foot would go up on the glass at me.. Back and forth we went.. He's been on my mind all week, so today I told the honey if he's still there he was meant to be, if not then I will get later...Well he was still there!!! And today was the last day of the tank sale so 40G Breeder!
He is a swimmer! Gave him his first ever bath and he had a blast!!! and a nice tiny poop :) He is 41 grams, he is a boy I can see his hemipenes...

Simon is eating like a champ!! He's eating a bunch of dubia nymphs, butter worms, wax worms, phoenix worms.. AND he's eating little pieces of zuc's, squash, acorn squash, collards, dandilion greens!!! I am a proud momma!! Nice fat belly on him now, he had a big poop this am in the bath (looks like the mealworms have made their way out! thankfully! I gave him the butter worms yesterday to help push them along with extra moisture)
His personality is soo different than Izzy's!! Izzy has always been very chilled want's to cuddle and just wants to watch stuff, she does love to run around the safe room but in her tank she lays at the top of her log with her head out the top watching us..
Simon is a wild child :) he's squirmy, jumpy and very outgoing! He LOVES his bath time, he swims around, waves alot.. lol He has eating from my hand so I can handle him easier and helps with bonding... His tail and feet look like they are about to shed, I can't wait to see his colors once he gets older as he's got lots of greens/browns!

That's how it was when we brought Luci home. Dexter was so calm and laid back and Luci was real outgoing and wanted to explore everything and jump all over the place. He still is jumpy and wants to run!

I can't wait to watch him grow and to see his personality develop..
This is what I worry about, I am loving Odins growing up....I worry when he gets older I'm going to be getting more and more beards haha...truly going to miss this time while he's young and full of exploration energy. Making the most of it for sure.

That's what happened with Dexter, she got older and I missed having a baby and I was afraid she was going to go into brumation so I got Luci. He was such a handful though that I never got that urge again LOL! I rescued Dolly but she was already a big dragon when we got her.

Okay so I seriously need to know how you guys find time to take care of more than one Beardie or is Bayne just SUPER spoiled? It seems like I'm constantly cutting veggies, making roach Chow, cleaning his tank, bathing him, playing with him, feeding him, etc... I don't think I could do a second one, LOL!

It's not that hard. For me I already had the food because I bought crickets in bulk and I had extra veggies anyway. I prep my veggies once a week, it takes about an hour and I just put them in a ziplock bag with a paper towel and they last that way until they get eaten. They don't have much in their tanks so cleaning isn't that difficult. Actually a lot of times, I take a dragon to the tub for a bath and David cleans the tanks. The only problem I have with 3 is giving them equal outside the tank time. I try to take them each out for an hour a day but sometimes that doesn't happen. Tuesday I only had time to bring the girls out and then Luci had to wait until Wednesday before bed to come out.

How does it only take you an hour to do veggies? Bayne gets usually three different greens every week, sometimes only two if I can only find collard and turnip, I've had problems finding mustard lately. I have to buy them in a bundle since that's all the stores around here have so I usually cut the whole thing at once of all three or both, which ever I have. It takes me two-three hours. Haha. What am I doing wrong?

I came up with a system! I do everything faster with a knife. People around me insists on using those apple cutter things, for me it's much easier just to use my knife. So this is what I do. For Collards, I cut lengthwise down each side of the stem and stack the leaves in the same direction on top of each other. Once I do that I cut the stack lengthwise 4 times then cut into smaller pieces widthwise. Put everything in a salad spinner and wash and rinse then put in a zip loc bag with a paper towel. Dandelion stems aren't real hard so I cut the stems off right above the tie holding them together (save those) then I chop it up in to small pieces, stems and all, wash in the salad spinner and put in a bag. Mustards are harder because they are curly I tend to cut the top off then cut along the stems and then chop as best as I can. Things like squash and sweet potato or zucchini gets shredded. It's takes at least an hour but maybe an hour and a half.

The stems from the dandelion I rinse off and put in a bag for the bugs along with the stems of the mustard greens. I don't use the collard greens because I found that my super worms smelled more when they ate collards.

I might be lazy lol.....I cut my greens right before feeding;

What I do is buy the leaves; Wash them; and bag em...usually I use a paper towel dampened like Patsy does.

Then when I need them I will pull a leaf out and cut it like Patsy described.

Then serve.

(Note)

I lop off all the unnecessary bits before bagging. I have a very sharp knife that I just swipe across the bulbs and stems.

(I finally got a hold of some dandelion greens today; (Went out in the rain to get some more greens for ody...))

I also cut up the greens and veggies each day and I guess I've just gotten quick about it takes about 10 min.
