Creating this thread for those of you who successfully got your adult bearded dragon to eat their salads. Here is everything that I have already tried and he doesn't eat any of it.

Greens
Collard Greens
Mustard Greens
Kale

Fruits
Blueberries
Apple

Vegetables
Cucumber
Carrots (shredded)
Bell Peppers

Also tried sprinkling bee pollen on his salads, he doesn't like it still.

Nothing on this list interests him. Any ideas what may make him go crazy for his salads?

I feel you..... (tried putting the bugs in the salad *picks out the bugs leaves the salad*)
Do you gut load ur bugs with fresh veg? , my dragon is so sassy she’ll turn her head unless she sees a steak roach first, the best thing i was told if you have a picky eater is gut load fresh veg and if ur offering roaches you can hide a thin piece of veg with the roaches as you shove em in , if you had an option to a fresh steak or a salad what would you do? (Id chose the salad personally) sometimes you have to play the “long game” dont starve her longer than 2 days away from bugs , just keep pushing the salad, if youve done all this and still wont eat anything, then just keep gut loading if you weren’t already and continue to offer salad whenever you can , i can only get veg in by sneaking it in, i give my bugs alot of the veggies you listed keep your bugs happy by changing up their diet.

If hes a healthy weight l wouldn’t sweat it , ive tried everything you’ve mentioned aswell, and my beardy has me beat, what supplements is he getting? ,and have you tried giving him Veggie burger ? You could mix it up and put it in a gummy worm mold? If you dont think he’ll eat it in disc or cube form? Its not a perfect fix but its worth a try.

Yeah I weigh him every 2 weeks he's average. 380g. He just is so stubborn he will sometimes go for it but other times he just closes his eyes at it when i wiggle it and make it look interesting lmao.

I feel for you. I think I won out on getting the stubbornest beardie who would absolutely refuse any sort of vege or green. Had to feed him baby food veges for the longest time. Hang in there, he will surprise you. Dex went from completely refusing everything (threw out so much wasted salads) to chowing down on pretty much everything. In one day. I kid you not. He absoutely pigs out on his salads now. He still refuses most fruit, but thanks to Hooman's recommend I have discovered he does like kiwi. Still trying a few others.

Whatever you do I’d deffo recommend to keep offering daily because like Barb said, one day they may just change their mind and surprise you. My beardie doesn’t like eating salad when I’m looking, if he catches me looking he’ll stop and walk away from the dish. When I do see him eating it he always looks so aggressive and angry haha. You can sometimes slide some greens in their mouth whilst they’re chomping their bugs, it seems once the leaf is kinda in there they have to chomp it, they can’t really spit it out. As long as you’re not forcing it in or stressing them out. If they get over their salad fear like that they may opt to eat it themselves another day? Last week I chopped a grape and put it in his shallow water dish and he ended up eating them, he’d never eat them before and has refused since. They’re have very strange food preferences and habits LOL

Right! I always offer just in case his salad stuff isn't even that expensive and it lasts forever so I just offer it and most of the time it does get wasted but sometimes he goes for it on a very rare occasion.
