Hello! I am officially a new beardie mama and I recently rescued 2 full grown boys @ 2 weeks ago. I am converting my 175 gallon fish tank into their new home's however since they are both males(i was told they were male and female) I'm now converting it and Its gonna be a duplex lol. Now we did not realize how expensive it was going to be and for granted we were not expecting to be buying 2-4 each( some items even more) of everything either. but oh well it has to be done and i want to do it the right way. Also quickly as possible my boys came in a 20 gallon tank and were stressed already and who knows for how long!! Now in regards to my main question do I have to purchase the actual 24"Zoo Med Repti-Sun T5 10.00 bulb WITH the fixture (cheapest i can find near me is $50each) or i noticed they have regular flouerescent fixtures some even say T8 on them in the description i dont kno if that matters(they're only $15each) and then just buy the repti sun bulbs to put in them?? Any helpful suggestions and advice is welcomed and appreciated!! Thank you in advance!!

So your tank is going to be a 87 gallon each side now correct--- you need the T 5 bulb for each one of them - you dont want a T 8 distance and placement is different between the two bulbs - you want a bright white basking bulb that keeps temps 95-100 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer-- stick ons are good for ambient temps only--- the Zoo Med comes w/ a 5.0 bulb keep it for back up but you want the Reptisun 10.0 T 5 --- order on line -- www.pangeareptiles.com - pet stores are too expensive --- do not get a regular fixture there are no reflectors in them - you need a fixture w/ a reflector --- check out pangea - you can also use a Arcadia ProT5 but I think they are out of the Arcadia 12% bulbs that come w/ the fixture so you would need to order it separate those are real good UVB's - let me know what you decide on and when you get the UVB's I will help you place them ---- PLEASE keep the male dragons separate and DO NOT let them see each other --- it will stress both of them out -- I have two males as well they are in Zen Habitats sit side by side and cannot see each other ------------- they face me in my computer room --- never out at the same time -- males will fight to the death ---
