So, I decided to take in my cousins Beardie after doing months of research and I am genuinely concerned for this beardies health. He looks really small for his age and he's a little over a year old. He had to get his tail cut off due to tail rot November 21, 2019 but the wound is still bleeding and it just looks bad. He also had to have a calcium shot due to MBD so im not sure if that has anything to do with it. One of his eyes has something dried in it and it also looks like its wet/leaking. He's a little lethargic right now but its due to shedding. My cousin also told me he had everything set up for him but when i got him the enclosure is not its best. I'll have to go to the pet store to get more stuff for his enclosure but right now my main focus is his health.

Do you have a uvb bulb? That will do wonders for his health, especially his MBD. Also if he is tiny for his age it could be that he is actually a female. Or he might not be getting all the proper vitamins he needs. Enclosure=health. If it’s not set up properly, your dragon will have health issues. The since his tail needed to be amputated, it could be he has trouble shedding himself. Only help though if the skin is very dry and just hanging off the new skin by a little bit. Don’t peel too soon or it will expose her not yet ready new skin to harmful microorganisms and or viruses. You can give him a warm bath, it might help with the wound. Even if you have antibacterial gel, (read ingredients to be sure it’s safe first) to help keep the wound from getting worse. As for his eye... do you loose substrate? Loose substrate, like walnut/coconut shell sand, etc. is repeatedly known for causing eye, nose, ear, and intestinal issues. Hope everything turns out okay. Let me know if anything changes! :)

There's repticarpet in the enclosure and I do have UV light for him.
