Females can lay eggs without a male, they're just empty. Just means she thinks she lives in an awesome place that will sustain babies. Mine has laid 3 clutches so far and she's about 6.

Keep an eye on her behavior because she needs extra calcium to make up for all that she lost in making eggs and there's always a potential for eggs getting stuck. They can lay 20+ eggs at a time! First clutches are normally smaller though.

No need to keep the eggs since nothing is going to happen and mom never seems to care when they leave anyway. Just make sure to wash your hands after handling because they do have higher levels of salmonella on them.

Congrats on being an egg dad!

My girl laid 3 clutches of slugs (infertile eggs) in 3 months. Each time there were 20+. Fertile eggs are white and firm, but slugs are slightly darker colored, and a bit squishy to the touch. Like Cori said, make sure she gets some extra calcium to make up for what she lost!

If you notice egg laying behavior in the future, you may want to make a lay box for her. Some beardies will try to avoid laying until they have the perfect spot to lay their eggs, which can lead to egg binding.

If you are sure they are infertile, put them in a bag, seal it and throw it away right away because they will stink. If there is any chance she was with a male, freeze them before you throw them away.
