Nail trims?

Out of my 3 girls only my little one needs nail trims. She has similar decorations to my big girls but her nails get so long and sharp she'll break skin and draw blood. It's not fun holding her when she rips me up. I've trimmed her nails once and poor thing got sooo stressed.

She has wood and stone to climb on but that clearly doesn't seem to be enough. So tips on making nail trims less stressful, or even avoidable? And I accidently cut a nail too short but it didn't bleed, sounds stupid to ask but they do have veins in their nail, right?

Yes, there are veins in the nails. It's best to just clip/trim the very tip of the nail.

Personally, I find the best time to trim nails would be in the evening around "lights out," as that's when your pet starts calming down and is more docile.

Hope that helps..

Guess she just had really long nails, cause it thought it was too short, but it didn't bleed

I trim my 2 when they are out sleeping under their blankets that way they are not fighting it.. just take the tip off and not go into the quick of the nail bed.. if you do it often enough you can "chase" back the nail quick..

Mine doesn't seem to mind when I trim his nails, they're kinda clear so I can see what's safe to trim. He has tiles in his viv but they still get kinda long. Only had to trim twice since I got him in December

I trim Dexter's and they like Lasen, I don't have to do them very often, which I feel bad for her because she sometimes can't grip on my shirt when she's trying to climb, LOL! My other girls nails have to be done all the time because they grow so fast.
