Hello! I had forgotten my password and information for this account for the longest time but now I am back! As of now I have three bearded dragons, all of which were rehomed to me out of either necessity or the inability to care for them. I have an almost 6 year old female named Petri with MBD who was cared for very poorly for her first 5 years, and while the vet says she currently has no progressive issues, it is obvious there were severe problems with her previous care. My first beardie is now almost 4, and we are approaching his second year anniversary with me! His name is Beaker and he is the most socialized and seems to genuinely enjoy his time out as well as time spent with my Mom and I. He has a hammock on my windowsill that he seeks out and then hops in and lays down, spending time happily just watching the outside world go by. My third and most recent is Bunsen, and while he does not love being held, he loves nothing more than exploring around the house and our screened in porch. I love all of my beardies very much and I am looking forward to many more years getting to know them better!

[While finishing and editing this post I have just lost Petri. We had to make the difficult decision to euthanize her after a week of severe issues. She prolapsed and she lost a third of her bodyweight in just a few days, all of this made worse by what we discovered was a respiratory infection. The vets and I made the decision that her quality of life was too poor and the only way the prolapse would be fixed was through surgery, which for her was very high risk already, and she was still in pain. It was a very difficult decision and many tears were shed, but I believe in her case we did what was best for her.]
